wish i would havegotten more on tape.... doing my usual routines of WOT ultra low flybys followed by vertical then flat spin like a top then ultra low flyby again. well my TV servo jammed full deflection and i didnt realize it in time. should have glided her out of it no power. but i gave it throttle unawares, you can actually hear it chopping my rudder as the propeller is stuck facing the side

How many flights you had in total prior to the servo jamming?

How bad is the damage, I pulled to T/V servo from mines, i don't like the locking arm, I can see it failing.

Hope you get her back in the air soon

Was it the servo that jammed or the linkage?

How many minute flights are you guys getting out of a 4s 3200? Just wondering where to set my timer for the first flight.

I'm all stock & with the stock bat I have my timer set to 4:20. I usually land by that time. It's been a while but I think I come back with about 27% left in the bat.

i'm running a 4000 ma pack and land after about 4 mins... i'm ready to land after 4 mins anyway.lol

i probly only had 30 or so flights before i changed it the first time. it was just acting funny, this video shows the 2nd servo actually get stuck in full deflection. have since reinstalled original servo (with some trepidation) and am back in the air. damage wasnt bad, this plane is a beast.... little CA, back in the air

well kids finally have 6 flights and this thing is a blast when you get past the pucker factor.
i do have to go a tad faster then my other planes or it feels heavy and slughish to me..
are any else having the front landing gear bend from landings.

Could anyone please be so kind as to post a video of the Scimitar's throttle range without the propeller? This will help me determine if there is something wrong with my motor. When I throttle up without the propeller a gut-wrenching high pitch sound is brought forth. Just wondering if that is normal.

A rainy Saturday and a trip to the LHS had me bring home the PNP Scimitar and retracts. I will be flying off a grass field so I will be putting some protective tape on the left rudder. I did the retract steering control arm mod. I downloaded the model for DX8 and everything looks ready to go. Just waiting on weather.

Tips I have seen along the way...
Taking off without full throttle to reduce torque roll
Use low rate on take off and landing
The retract steering control nose gear mod
Left rudder protection

Anything else I should do before putting this plane into the air?

^ You'll be mowing the grass. And if the grass is bumpy, you'll not only be mowing the grass but aerating it, too. I fly off a very flat, packed gravel runway and after my very first flight, the prop has chips in it from the little rocks that get thrown up. Driving it off the runway and onto the grassy side strip, it was like watching a blender. If grass is all you've got to take off and land on, get the largest diameter wheels that will fit in the wheel wells. This will help it roll better and get it higher up off the ground a bit more.
As for not using WOT to take off, I think you should get off the ground as fast as you can to avoid chewing up the ground any more than you have to. This thing has huge wings and stabilizers. Once it gets up to lift off speed, it's not going to torque roll hardly at all and what it does, you can counter with a bit of opposite aileron.

I don't notice any torque roll at all.Full power takeoffs,either at the paved runway at our field,or the grass at the high-school's practice field.You're gonn love the plane.
The very biggest tip is to try and bleed off as much speed as possible when landing,to keep it from bouncing.
