Galamaga: Sounds like you either have to low a voltage connected to the E-OSD or your regulator is bad.

chatch15117: Not to much to be honest, I started programming on my E-OSD since it was the cheeper of the two boards and I keep the support for it when I started programming on the G-OSD. But you can add a GPS to make it more interesting plus since you have the source you can change things.
My connection for USBASP are next, not same as showed on ebay )

But Syberian version works good, I have tried with 2s and 3s battery.

Just tried that, looks a bit different but seems to habe the same problem:
I have similar problem, but this problem was solved after recompiling sources with 21000000 CPU speed, (24000000 by default).

(Jo)Hannes: Thanks! Yes, that looks just as bad...

Galamaga: Hmm, strange...

A thought juts occured to me:
I wonder if there are different board revisions with different pinouts?

For those of you having problems with the firmware, test Syberians code and see if that works. (Thanks Galamaga!)

Galamaga: Aaaa, different crystals!

Edit: 24MHz is actually over spec for the µP.

The original code is read-protected. Sorry...

Hi,

I am attempting to load cl-osd and am having an issue. I am using a pololu pgm03a v1.06, http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1300/pictures and AVR studio 5 using STK500.

The pololu LEDS indicate that connection with PC is fine (solid green LED) and that the GOSD is ready to program (blinking yellow led.) In AVR studio I can connect to polou (STK500, ATmega88PA, ISP) but as soon as I try to read or write I get an error. The yellow LED continues to blink indicating connection to GOSD is good and the red LED starts flashing, indicating that programming mode failed because voltage is too low (as best I can tell.)

I have triple checked cabling, all looks good. I know trying to diagnose something like this over the internet is near impossible but I thought I would throw it out here anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am wondering if perhaps my soldering is not up to scratch and may be causing this.

This is a great project, keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Gimmer

Gimmer: If it complains about voltage getting too low then try removing VCC / +5 V between OSD and programmer and add external power to the OSD.

Galamaga: Yes, but my crystal is 24MHz so that's why I have that there...

By the way, what does the LED do in the normal CL-OSD firmware?
Mine blinks from time to time...

OK, blinking was only while the progger was still connected

And signature of my chip is 0x1e 0x93 0x0F so it is atmega88P, not atmega88PA
