put enough power through her and you can handlaunch it, i had 1400 watts in my het f16 and i could handlaunch her

I got mine last week, have a few projects to finish up first..but I have a cool 42 for 4s that I'm gonna put in her...should be a bullet!

ok maidened my f-16 on saturday,all went well and hand lauched in less than 5kmh wind gust(as there was almost no wind)she seemed tail heavy on the first flite,we were using a 2600mah 45c bat but still went ok:

,then we went for the 3700mah 45c with a revised c.g and seemed still a bit tail heavy but went better:

all up she seemed very touchy and c.g has to be right to get that bird going properly.hand lauch is very possible with some head wind,landings were ok,not the best glider bust still ok,all up she a good flyer,fast but i still love my f-15's

Nice one Rudy, your's as least is hand launchable and has good speed.
Mine is slower than some of my foamies and requires a bungee to launch- obviously something is wrong with mine. I suspect the battery isn't delivering the volts required.

Nice maiden, and hand launch! Fan sounds nice as well.

I have one of these on the way. I like the concealed servo setup. I think thats how I will set mine up. Not only clean, but also like the fact they are protected.

got mine together, went to fly, but didn't feel right so waiting for another day

I picked this one up from Vettster BNIB, He has gone on to turbines and selling all his EDF stuff. I started with the tail, I used some 3/8" spruce stock that I counter sunk the bearings into to support it at the fuse. At the momment I am thinking taileron control only. This worked fine on my HET F-15 and the Phase3 F-16 and eliminates unnecessary weight.

Hey fellas I just bought one of these as well..Will start on it some time this week..
Looks like i will try to high power setup first and go from there..plan on bungee launching it because of weight but will see once built...
My 3300's slide in well and i will probably do away with the batt tray and put a piece of 1/16 ply in its place but as low as i can get it...
So it will be 6s 3300's 65c and the het 1w40 and a 120 hv castle esc.....
I appreciate all the pics and info you guys have posted so far as it should make the build easier..

How are you guys running the horizontal on this thing?Elevator and ailerons or taileron and aileron...It seems like the discovery channel documentary showed the jet using a pure elevator as I do not remember seeing the planes work independently of each other and seemed to work as a single unit?

On your bearing block...did you just epoxy it to the inside of the fuse...
Great idea and i plan to do the same..i cannot undesrstand why there is not some wood in there to support that bearing...I guess this is why we can get it cheap and modify our selves...

Yes, very simple mod. Using the supplied inner braces the tail surfaces are only on a slight downward angle, If you want more like the real plane you will need to make another hole. I used the existing one.

The build is coming along, I have however come across the flaking issues others have reported. I will finish and fly it first before I address that problem. I also find hiding in my work shop one of Don's BL3600 motors in a HET fan. I had this in the HET F-15 before I lost it last summer. It was quite a hot setup. I'm thinking of putting it in this one. Don stopped selling those motors, I bought 2 on his close out sale.
