I just received a copter-x head for my apache after 2 different heads not working out for me. the apache head and the double cats. now Im on the copter-x and it seems pretty nice, but my swash is so dang stiff. Any input on yours. I mean really stiff. I wouldn't fly it until I figure out why it's so stiff.
I have to put some serious force to move the swash toward the swash follower?? Like as if something is bend inside the swash, but it will move fine in other directions??

Hi Buddy,

In my case the grip of the suppled ballinks are really tight So I will use Align bol- links for it.
But can you point it on a photo what you mean? is giving pitch a problem?

It does move around freely at all! It has not been installed on my heli yet, but im sure it will bounce my head around with servo movements.

Hi so you say that the round shape ring can rotate freely but get stuck when you move it up or down, correct ?

My head (the Xcopter) not my own. has some play moving up and down I guess 0.5mm a bit to much by my feeling.
But how much play do you have when moving this ring up and down.

There is no play up and down. If I put the shaft through it and move the awash around it gets stuck when the shaft would come to the part of the swash were the swash stay would connect to the swash.

Hi I would suggest to dismantle this part and take a close look at it,
There a little scrub screw at the side what holds the bearings thats support this ring.
Dont forget to loosen this one

If it was Mine, I would find some fine lapping compound and light oil and put that on the tight part and work it around a bit. You have to carefull though and not get it to loose That would be as bad as to tight. Ed

That's an option and you can use the cleaning paste you use to clean your kitchen-sink

Hi Buddy,

If you are using the cleaning paste you do not need to dismantle the swash.
Insert the paste inside the tight area and move it as you did on your video.
Along moving around you should get more space and a smoother travel.

Besides that you can push the ring downwards out the swash, don't forget the scrub screw.

this is funny, I have been checking to see if you answered me, but just today noticed that the thread went to another page. LOL.

I emailed ehobby and they are sending me a new swash. Been real busy and will be till January with X-mas at work and all. I haven't tried the paste yet, but I will have to. Will give results asap.

Hi all,

I'm a bit annoying myself because I have seen that the main rotor shaft is not vertical when the Apache is resting on his landing gear.
Best is that the main shaft is tilted a bit forwards, now its a bit tilting backwards.
Just not right I know that for a wile but its annoying me more and more.
So I will take out the mechanics and fix it the coming weeks.

I will keep you guys posted.

Before beating yourself up, does your landing gear collapse to the same angle as the landed AH-64? If not, the body will be slightly tipped aft and your mast will not be perpendicular to the ground. Just checking. Take care.
