yeah thats the only bad this i can see, i would have rather had a wing snapped that the full fuse opened up (wing would have been a nice easy fix ) not sure how i am going to do it ? dissapointed a little but i am sure it will be resolved by either me of HK i will try and get onto them and see if they are willing to do anything before i attempt it my self

trouble is if i do it.... i know i will end up with dents in the foam or paint flakeing off from the pressure get to get together, and if i do that i will have to paint the thing ( and that was the demise of my gws pico moth threw my toys while trying to brush paint it )

i will let people know how it goes or if anyone got any suggestions

I think HK will swap it for you but you might have to pay the shipping
both ways (your part back to them and the new part to you).

I am assuming you are asking because a lot of force is needed to squeeze
the fuse together and close the gap.

How hard would it be to get the two fuse halves apart? If you could then
you could probably trim the foam inside or move things around so that
the two halves fit together snuggly. Then you could glue it back together
without having to apply so much force that you dent it.

The critical thing would be if the fuse halves are just glued around the
outside then with care, luck and a REALLY sharp blade you could probably
get it apart without damaging it. However if its also glued inside (say
at a bulkhead) then what I am suggesting probably isn't a good idea.

The other suggestion I have is to avoid the shipping (one way at least)
would HK be willing to sell you a bare fuse? if the cost of that is less than
the cost of shipping the old fuse back then that might be a better option.

Anyway I hope I have helped.

yeah thanks Mike i have thought about trying to slice a sharp knife into the fuse to split them apart

it wouldn't be too bad if i was going to re-paint it as i could fill the gaps with filler then sand and paint and you probably wouldn't notice it

i have spoke to Scott and he is going to look into it (and post a pdf on the website for the instructions) so fingers crossed they he get back to me asap, i just hope the rest of the tigers are a better fit and mine was just a one off the one in the pics on the site looks fine hopefully they should start apearing on this forum over the next few days ( would have liked mine to be the first flown and posted on here, but never mind someone else can have all the glory )

Perth i used to live over the road from the zoo and fly my hobbyzone supercub at sir James Mitchell park
with a mate Happy days

Hopefully Scott will send you a new fuse. I suppose the irony is it looks so
damn good! If it looked a bit rough round the edges you really wouldn't
care about the split.

James Mitchell Park eh. Never flown there even though I do live South of
the river. My club flies at Yokine but I have a few parks reasonably close by
that I use.

Let us know what happens with the tiger.

I am holding on this as I recently. Got a Bixler. The hardware was rubbish and had to replace everything.
As this TM was built for HK, I wonder how good the hardware is on this.
As I said I will wait for reviews from the people on here.

Alright, I am feeling a little silly. I had about talked myself into pulling the trigger, but I can't find the Moth on the HK website! Even when I click on the link in the first page I just get the generic model list. I click on the right hand side (My history) and that link doesn't work either. I do a search and come back to the same page. ???

I got an error message saying that their web server was shutting down. I tried
a little later and the Tigermoth had disappeared from their site.

I hope all is well in tiggie land. It could just be a glitch with their website or
database. Scott, if you are out there, do you know what has happened?

hmmm, everything else works on the page. My Tiger Moth have been shipped, but when I click on the item in my order I will get into a listing as mentioned in this tread.
Could it be they are doing some QC due to the gap in the glued fuselage?

Cheers,
Terje

So should I be expecting the same problem when mine arrives?
And what other problems should I be aware of?
