need new motors for apparition twin drive

does anyone know where a guy can get replacement motors for the app twin drive?

theyre apparently 2881kv 380's.

prefer stock motors, or something with at least the same power on 3s thats a drop in

What about a pr of leopard 2860
These will drop straight in and last alot longer than the originals, plenty of power & perfect for 3s
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEOPARD-Bo...item45fa98e968

These are cheaper here in the uk than the original motors and well worth the 's/$'s

ah great, thanks for the link.

i found the same ones for sale on ebay aus.
ill give em a go, i dont know why the originals smoked though.

one lost power and the other cut out, both had a light wiff of smoke from them when i opened the canopy.

is the pin hole water pickup in the rudder an ok setup for water intake? (is it sufficient for the upgrade)

The cooling jackets are just a metal sleeve with an o-ring at each end, just pull them off carefully with a bit of wiggling. When you go to put them on the new motors grease the o-rings and watch the edges of the motor can so you don't tear the rings.

Not sure what other motor you could use, maybe someone knows? But I WOULD NOT recommend Leopard http://radiocontrolinfo.com/forum/vi...c.php?f=6&t=18

i done some crude approximate figures on the specs, seems like it'll perform better than the stock ones did on 3s.

original motors
2881kv X 11.1v = 31979 rpm

and i got a watts up reading of i think 601w @ 62a peak. (in a run)

leopard 2730kv @ 11.1v = 30303 rpm
if theyre 1300w on 5s (-approx 260w per cell) i should get approx 780w on 3s
(ballpark figures, of course)

= 1676rpm loss with the leopards (@ no load), but a ~180w gain in power
and since ill be running 3s on a motor thats capable of 5s, it shouldnt get even slightly hot since its nowhere near peak loads/output

1 or 2 bad motors in the 100's they produce theres always gonna be a defective 1 somewhere.
But did you search feigao's,iv read lots of storys of them throwing magnets & bearings but you still brought 1.
end of the day anything you buy could be defective thats what happens in mass production, but it doesnt mean there all bad.

Also youll find these have alot more torque so youll be able to spin larger props than what you spinning so youll gain speed.

what about the 2860 2910kv.
it seems virtually identical in specs except the 2910kv is a measly 30kv higher than the stock 2881kv.

i can get the 2910' locally, the 2730kv i'd have to order off ebay.
