Putting the final touches on getting ready for FLI! New plane ready, new prop on 103", batteries at storage voltage...check!

Starting to get really excited, but have to work hard Mon-Tue to finish two projects before leaving on Wednesday.

Field was awesome this morning!

Got a flight on my EPP Slick and maidened my new 51" Slick with an OS electric motor on it.

BTW, anyone seen the forecast? Looking pretty good!

Mostly spectacular, with a high probability of AWESOMENESS!

How was the OS brushless motor, been wanting to try one.

Good power. Nice smooth motor!

Need to try a different prop (got a Turnigy Electric wood on it now) and speed up the response on my esc.

I've got an Ice Lite 75 in it and I didn't reprogram anything, just ran default settings.

So, if everything goes as planned, I could be passing through Memphis around lunch time. Now I have it in my head to have some Memphis BBQ (too much food network I guess). I've read a lot of mixed reviews on places, from being "to die for" to the worst place on earth and people having their cars broke in to while they stopped in for a sandwich...

Does anyone have a recommendation or should I just continue on and hot-foot it up to the field?

Although it appears to be close where you exchange from I-40 to I-55, you'll easily lose a couple of hours on an excursion into Mphs for lunch. It'll be 20-30 minutes from the I-55 interchange to "The Rendesvous" which is where most out-of-town folks want to go for "Mphs Q".

I personally like wet Q more than dry Q, which is what Rdv serves (dry rub).

We are kicking around the idea of heading out tomorrow instead of tuesday.....

Truthfully, you just almost can't go wrong with BBQ in Memphis.

With so many really great Q restaraunts there, if a new BBQ joint springs up im Mphs, it HAS to be good or it just won't survive!

Rdv is known worldwide for their ribs. They're kinda vinegerry and although they are really good, I just like tomatoey sauce. The restaurant is very different and historic, too. Cool place to see.

Although I haven't been there in several years, Interstate BBQ has been around since I was a kid. The building is very unassuming, but the food is fantastic!

If you like different stuff, try the BBQ spaghetti! Yeah, you heard it!

I personally love that stuff! I even make it at home from time to time!

Neely's is a relative newcomer on the scene and I haven't had the occasion to try it yet.

Dexter BBQ here in Cape has an INCREDIBLE pulled pork sandwich on texas toast you might want to try while in town!
