In order to get the best stability you have to use the best components. Cheap IMU's from phones or Wii controllers are only good for toy hobbyists. Of course those cheap IMU's would never had existed if the technology wasn't commoditized by the mass produced cell phone.
Here is an example of a state of the art IMU. It is 100 times more accurate than the parts currently used in any controller. http://www.edn.com/article/518425-IM...ct_package.php
I would love to see that technology in a flight controller. But the price is $2500 for a sample. In quantities it is probably a few hundred bucks but that is still over a magnitude more expensive than the currently used IMU's.
My point of this rambling is nothing good will come out of Hobby King for $29 bucks. HK uses cheap mass produced crap that is two year old cell phone technology. For those that can benefit from the added performance of state of the art electronics a high price is expected. In the professional movie business you do not put a $20,000 camera on a $100 tripod.

Not bad if it works like none other and doesn't have a single issue. Looks like it is time to start using these for customer units. People will pay that for something that "appears" to be rock solid and well thought out. I've seen the high end DJI units on big 90 sized copters with expensive cameras and they are amazing.
I just need it to be able to run up to an Octo please

There's no altitude limit on Wookong-M for multirotors.All autopilot system require a fine tuned airframe. That's for sure. We will upload more videos with DJI installed on different models.Thanks for watching.

Oh wow, so < 1500 including GPS? So this already beats MK anyway.
Standard ESC = Low cost + < 1500 = final price
BLCtrl2.0 $80 * num_motors (lets say 4) = 320$
FC2.1 = $470
NAVI2 = $285
GPS = $115
Some UnfVertelierelr + other crap = $100-ish
Putting all this crap together with a mess of homemade wires and PCB standoffs = Priceless
Total = $1200-ish just to get a mess of wires going.
Now price is juuuust around that and you'll wipe them out.
