I'm happy with my Align controllers soft startup for my heli's, but would for interest's sake
just like to know if the eRC's soft start is on par, better or worse than Align's soft startup ?

I've never used an Align ESC, but from the ones I've seen at the field I'd say it's about the same, maybe slightly less linear on the ramp up to the target RPM.

I'm using their 12amp ESC with their BL300 motor. No complaints as of yet : smooth, responsive, and you just can't beat the price - less than $40 for the pair.

What power system and lipos are you using in that Dennis? Whose kit is that?

The spec's show the 12a, 25a and 35a ESCs rated for 4s, does anyone know if the BEC has to be disabled for 4S operation on these? I found the manual on the HL web site and it doesn't mention it, perhaps that means the BEC doesn't have to be disabled but it would be nice to know for sure before trying it

I got the 65amp in an ExtremeFlight 48" Edge, 70amps 800 watts into a Scorpion motor, very impressed with plug and play, no issues no heat well cooled, 4 Hyperion DS11 servos, 55oz 6VDC,

I went and bought the 115amp to go in my Outlaw that had been current limited with the HWPlatinum Pro 100. Hope to push 2500W 6s thru that one.

I am pretty sure hobby lobby is an arts and crafts store. I doubt they sell anything Rc other than glue and exacto knives.

Hobby Express was the "other" Hobby Lobby" up until about two years ago. The two used to have links on their home pages to direct people that got the wrong "Hobby Lobby" to the one they were looking for.

I am wondering why someone would subscribe to a thread that has not had a post in 4 years. And if you want to subscribe you do not have to post to the thread, you can do it under the "Thread Tools" tab at the top of the page.

My experience with one of these was sort of OK. I liked programming with the programmer. Initial ground tests went well. Unfortunately, an extended ground run up resulted in the ESC burning out. HE replaced it under warranty. In the interim, after repairing model damage due to the fire, I installed a CC 75A ESC.
Since that continues to work well, I haven't changed back.
The ERC ESC was really well done. It looked like the BEC chip cooked off first, followed by a general burnout. The 6S5000mah we were using survived, only because the battery wires melted off the ESC solder pads. Evidently the 6S lipo and servo count resulted in the failure. Post repair testing resulted in replacement of one servo that may have been failing before the burn out, or may have failed due to it. As the Lipo cell count increases, the safe BEC current drops. 5A at 4S is quite different than 5A at 6S.

Because I am acquiring a model powered with these escs shortly. And having a post in the thread makes finding it slightly faster than purely subscribing in my experience.

Okay, I guess if that helps you go for it. Now another question: Why would someone quote my post and then say absolutely nothing in his/her portion of the post that has anything to do with my post? This site makes me smile at times in the wonderment.
