While I love my foamies, I want more warbirds to come out in composite and/or balsa/ply construction! Who's with me?!?!

Hangar9, E-Flite, come on guys, start producing some non-foamies warbirds in the 70" + range.

How about some T-28's, Skyraiders, P-47's, etc. etc.

Wow! If no one makes anymore foamies I better take better care of mine. My experience with balsa is I am just a match away from having a proper campfire.

Don't get me wrong, I love my foamies, but I get so much hanger rash with them. I never said for manufacturers to stop making foamies, but rather to have other manufacturers to make more non-foamies.

70"+ though ,, you're golden .. no shortage of composite and or balsa arfs/kits in that size range,, look at esm/kmp/cmp/holman/topflite etc etc,,, ... 89" esm spitfire might be creeping into my hangar ..

The new ParkZone S.E.5a would be nice in a 70" version from E-Flite or Hangar 9.

I've got a giant scale ESM T-28 and while its nice, its not Hangar9 quality. These quality companies need to come up with some more warbirds.

I've looked at ESM as I own one and love it. I'd just like to see local hobbystores carrying more of these large warbird arfs.

Sorry... all my cars can't accommodate planes that big, and I'm not a fan of toothpicks when I make the inevitable "oops" input on the sticks.

I'll stick with my foamies and hot glue.

lol! I used to have both, but with all the kids either in college or in their own cars, my wife and I now drive smaller (and much nicer) cars. lol

Maybe when we have grandchildren I can justify it.

I hear ya,,, good friend owns a GREAT shop.... pretty simple,,,he'll get whatever you want ,but the big kits sit and the small foam sells,so he gives the folks what they want.

take a look at the giant scale p-47 from top flite ,,kit , rtc or arf ,,, very nice .

Nah, if you do it right the lipo should catch fire in the crash and then you wont need the matches.

You may have also noticed, over the course of the last year EPO model have come to dominate this forum, almost every single thread on the 1st page here is about EPO warbirds. Its got to saturation point. That said they are dong great things with it. Just look at the new HK P40N.

When they get a skin finish close to, or as good as glassed balsa, then I'll be very interested.

what a strange concept

1)if you've built a model from a pile of wood , you know it inside and out; literally.
2)If you've made some errors you know on the maiden " she's probably going to pitch up "
3)If you crash you know exactly how it was constructed and how to fix it .

I love all warbirds regardless of where they come from or what they are made of...

* so please note I'm not being inflammatory,discrediting anyone or anything in any way at all ! *

I will say there is nothing like flying a model you built yourself. It is an experience one shouldn't shy away from. The reward is immeasurable.
