Bird type airplane
It is a glider which does not have a vertical tail like a bird.
This bird changes a camber and circles. http://www.youtube.com/user/inakakoubou#p/a |

methods
I have developed the bird type airplane without a vertical tail from ten years before.
The methods of circling are two methods, split aileron and camber aileron. http://www.youtube.com/user/inakakou.../1/KYrgAvATo_g |

Kanai,
Nice models you have there, but you say you developed these..are you not aware of Bob Hoey's bird models? He was making models like this in the late 80's, early 90's. Plans were published in various RC magazines I think. Here's his beautiful turkey vulture model...
I would really like to build one of these and simply make it flap for aesthetics even if it didn't produce thrust. With the double surface ribbed airplane style wing they glide really well. |

Hi Mr.Kanai! Welcome to Rcgroups..finally! I'm a subscriber to your YouTube channel, Valkyry5. I have always been a fan since my brother told me about you a few years ago.
I was so impressed of you work that I'm trying to attempt to try it on my epp falcon. Its really grand to see you here on the ornithopter thread, but I think your contribution and help would be very appropriated here on this thread.... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=950519However you've came to the right place to converse with a person you have subscribed to and that is "Bluefalconholland" or "Avisfactisus". That's Robert Musters. And Kazu-kaku or Kazuhiko kakuta. I'm glad you've made it to our neck of the woods. Welcome. . |

The 1st method, split aileron
Thank you for the information.
I had not seen this video. Development of my bird type airplane started in 2002. At first, although it was the method of moving wind end wings, this was able to turn only at a few. Then, I investigated the frame of the bird and considered how to move by a frame. Then, I thought of how a bird is stale about the back of wings. By this method, rapid revolution became possible. This method is split aileron. http://www.youtube.com/user/inakakou...20/P0wcXZQUVdA However, by the method of a split aileron, revolution of the sea gull with the thin point of wings is well impossible. Now, the method of circling by the method of changing a camber was added. I think that a camber aileron system becomes the method of using by a flapping-of-wings mechanism. |

Welcome to the "flock"
I second that!!!
I'm a subscriber myself (HDfoodie). I've been downloading copies since the "Oiseau rc" clips =) In case you (or any others here) are interested - some old links: http://www.pbs.org/saf/1109/video/watchonline.htm Click on "PLAY VIDEO" for the "Is It a Bird?" segment. The segment is really about Paul MacCready but it shows Bob actually flying the Vulture (0:00-1:15) and gives a brief explanation of how wingtip ailerons work (3:10-4:25) Then there's the TWITT pages for The Turkey Vulture: http://www.twitt.org/1partdrib.html The Seagull: http://www.twitt.org/2partdrib.html The Pelican: http://www.twitt.org/3partdrib.html and The Raven too: http://www.twitt.org/BirdLtrPics.html http://www.twitt.org/BirdLetters.html Plans for the Raven Plans for the Turkey Vulture I bought the Vulture plans years ago, but life caught up with me and I never had the chance to build it. Maybe this winter I might have the time.... ...unless I come across one Sean's birds first!!!
