I read this (old) post and I'm wondering if someone will tell his experience with those 600 size blades. mainly the swept wing/tip version

I'm building the Apache from Smart models at this moment.
And I have just received the four blade tail rotor head for it with the new blades (kind of fiber plastic) and they all looks very very good.
So I'm very curious how the scale main blades are doing

The firberglass version coming out soon !

Will there be fiberglass versions larger than 600?

Any news about the scale 600 size blades (hopefully with swept tips)
Would be a nice fit for my Apache..
And I don't see any 4 blade heads anymore on your website, and also on the TF website they are for a looooong time not on stock??

Every well respected RC helicopter blade designer that I have ever talked to, have all said the same thing. They ALL say, and have explained to me, how copying full scale blades do NOT result in efficient rotor blades for RC helicopters.

In a nutshell, that is because the airfoils and tips of full scale blades are optimized to be efficient at air speeds that are approaching the speed of sound, while our RC blades operate at much lower air speeds.

Though a full scale heli rotor may rotate at only 300 RPM, because their blades are so long, the outer portion is traveling at near sonic speed. On the other hand, though our RC helis rotate at far greater RPMs, their blades are a lot shorter, so that the airspeed at the tips are a lot less.

This means the airfoils and tip designs of decent RC blades will be a lot different then those for full scale helis. Ditto for the inner support and weight distribution aspects to the overall designs.
