April 22nd post, photo #3... Is that a magnet in the wing root behind the connector? Do tell!

Chic Magnet

RC Rod,

Yes, give or take 5/16" in diameter provided by bobbyjack.
Something funny happened after drilling and setup to bond:
I thought of using JBW, after placing a dab of the mix in the fenestration
and approached it with the magnet entire mix was sucked by it at about
2" distance .

These magnets are so powerfull they will stick through your hand.

A good friend of mine (Pilebuck) gave me the idea of using the magnets to hold the wings on. So far it seems to be working good! I also use them on all my twisties. Here's a couple of finished Tomahawk pics.

Sweet... I've used magnets on a foamie, but it didn't occur to me to use them on a big mouldie.

Do you find it difficult to remove the wing with such a powerful magnet?

Not really, they're only about 3lbs of pull each (so 6lbs total) and I have my trusty SUSA wedge to get them started.

I saw the finished Maxa up close. In my opinion, no one approaches the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that Alvaro puts into his customer's builds. The man is a Zen Master.
