aquacraft vela yacht
hi there my friend wants to buy a vela yacht we live in australia has anyone ever purchased one from here ? we can only find them in the us and shipping is quite exspensive thanks

I suggest he contact Aquacraft to locate a dealer in your part of the world. Or ask Tower Hobbies if they'd ship him one. I have shipped boats to Australia before and it was not too bad. The Aussie dollar buys more than ours does.
Not wishing to offend anyones feelings, has he considered a Seawind? Time tested and you can get them around the world. Just a thought.
The Vela and Seawind are similar 1M Americas Cup style boats - I've had both and preferred the Seawind. Thats me, and tastes vary - If he gets one, the information on the thread will be of value.

I bet shipping would cost around a hundred bucks or so. Maybe instead of a Vela, finding a used entry level IOM might be better. IOM's are very similar to the vela, except the construction is generally better and the rig is much higher quality. Ryan
