Team30 Micro EDF UM Habu
Well, I'm pretty sure PZ has done a UM Habu and we just have to wait for it to be released. I couldn't be bothered waiting so I'm going to go ahead and make one. I think I have just the right little 30mm EDF here for the job. It should be able to fit both a 35mm and 40mm too. I am going with a wingspan of 15".
I've just about finished doing up my own set of plans and have already finished the artwork which will be paper slide decals as they worked so well on the 25mm Micro Hawk (they almost look painted on the depron). Even the Habu logo was begging for the 32 to be changed to a 30 to reflect the EDF size!
The main fuse will consist of 2 pieces of formed depron. I did a dummy fitting of the fuselage shapes today using paper cut-outs. I hope you like rolling depron because I will be avoiding box construction as much as I can on this one.
The forward piece has the upper intake flanges on it to simplify that area and allow the front to be a guide for the forward fuse/inner intake walls that will be inserted into place.
The rear is a taper from the ellipse to circular exit. It looks weird by itself and you'll probably scratch your head thinking "what the...?" so I superimposed the fuse of the Habu to show you where this is going so far.

I transferred my paper templates into the comp. Just need to draw up the turtle deck and fuse front and I can get into the build.

Hows this one going ,I take it that it's on hold....I made a habu, ish micro
about a year ago with a 30mm 2s, but with ducting an all, it was a bit lame.so i gave up .but with 3s i reckon it,ll be cool
Just the thought of a micro habu make,s me wanna touch myself

Yes, on hold. I am working on my speed entry for 30mm edf while I wait for some parts for the UM Habu to arrive. I've had a heck of a time of late with parcels not making it to my doorstep. It's getting a little beyond a joke now.
Also playing with motor and fan combo's as always.

Hi Megatesla and nitro ,im having the same problems waiting for parts too.
cant wait to see a micro habu ,will no doubt be awesome.
And yes mega it's a squall ,or at least that's what i was aiming for .
haven't maidened it yet as ive blown the motor.(waiting for new one)
done glide test for cog and she glides real good so fingers crossed.
10 inch w\s
14.5 inch length.
depron balsa laminate
coated with solarfilm
aeo 27mm 11000kv combo
ar6400 with diode
elevons(might add rudder if survives maiden)
3s 325mah 65c thunder power battery
I've managed to get the ducting real nice on this one ( well i hope )
it,s allways my biggest concern as i've built lots of planes
that flew lame because of poor internal ducting, hopefully 3s will eliminate these
anyway will remain glued to these threads, and will post a flight report,
and maybe get some video (when parts arrive)
happy days !!!!!!
