You are correct. If you are looking from the front, the Starboard motor rotates clockwise. That's why I have adopted the TTI notation. If the tops of the props turn IN toward the fuselage, then it doesn't matter if you are looking from the front of the plane toward the tail or if you are looking from the cockpit toward the nose, the prop tops still turn inward toward the fuselage.

Thank, TTI it is.
Throttle on my JR radio is usually reversed for electric esc. Do I need to program my radio for any special mixing?

You should not have to reverse the throttle channel on JR radios for use with electric flight systems. If you use a Y-harness on the throttle channel and plug both ESCs into the Y, you will not need any mixes, but you will need to use the water rudder.

If you want to use differential throttle to steer, then you will need to program in at least three mixes.

Mix #1 will be Throttle as Master and Aux1 as Slave with 100% mix. This will allow the right side motor (Starboard) to plug into the normal throttle channel and the left side motor (Port) to be plugged into the Aux1 channel.

Mix #2 will be Rudder as Master and Throttle as Slave. Program so that right rudder command will slow down the right motor.

Mix #3 will be Rudder as Master and Aux1 as Slave. Program so that left rudder command will slow down the left motor.

Some high end JR radios allow twin motors as an itnitial programming option.

The only 2212 motor I could find at Himax has an 840 kV not 850. The one I found is only a 50 watt rated motor rated for planes up to 12 oz. That means two of them are only rated for up to 24 oz. The Widgeon weighs almost 4 pounds. The 2212 seemed to have a stick mount system that would not work in the Widgeon without major reworking.

I think you would be much better off using the recommended Rimfire motors that are rated for 220 watts.

I didn't mean to imply that the Rimfire motors were the only motors for the Widgeon, but I did include the link to the specific motor that I'm flying in my Widgeon with good success.

Where did you get the battery for the g-44 . I got a 3300mah and pushed as far back as it will go and I have to add 6oz of wt to the tail the battery they call off in the book and on the web site i can not find. GP don't even have it listed(GPMP0623) on there site

Hobbico supplied the battery for the review. The review battery weighed 279 grams (9.8 ounces). How much does your battery weigh?

Your pack is slightly heavier and a little longer than the original battery. Are you using the recommended Rimfire motors and the provided prop adapters and spinners and have you checked your max current draw with both motors running at full bore?

I think the reason GP used the large battery and the heavy spinners was to get more nose weight to offset the heavy fiberglass aft fuselage. You might be able to use a 2200 mah 3-cell battery and lighter prop adapters and then be able to remove the extra tail weight. Just be sure you are balanced at the recommended 2" back from the leading edge of the wing measured at the fuselage.

I have the Rimfires, prop adapters and spinners, I have not checked the amp draw.
I am using the CG Machine. will the 2200mah give me enough run time, and did you use any tail wt.

I'm using Master Airscrew 9x7 3-blade props, one tractor, one pusher. Props rotate TTI (Tops Turn In), that is the tops of the props turn inward toward the fuselage. I'm pulling a little less than 30 amps full throttle on a fully charged battery pack. I'd recommend you set your timer for four minutes to start with and then check the remaining charge in your battery after a normal flight. I'd think you could get 6 minute flights pretty easily, but you should start out slow and measure mah usage for your flying style and location.

I did not add any tail weight at all and I installed the battery slightly back from the bow of the plane.

Please check your propellers and be sure they are both installed the correct way. The size information should face forward - toward the front of the plane. It looks like the port prop is on backwards.

If both props are rotating the same direction, be aware that there will be a torque effect on takeoff and be prepared to use right aileron to keep the wings level during the takeoff run.
