Spartan,
Congrats!! The 15x6 is more for the high c rated packs(40c+).. I also run 30c 6s and I've found a 15x7 pjn works perfect! 1400W @ 60amp..

The 15x8 is a bit to much pitch for 30c and will Boost your numbers into the danger zone..

I'll have a few video clips up later, and you can see mine is just as fast as my Edge..

BTW.. Mine flew perfect right out of the box! No trim needed!!!

Fiala Wood Prop

He Guys,

you really should check out the Fiala propellers from czech republic.

Flown Xoar 15x8 and Vox 15x7 on my 60 Edge. Switched to Fiala 15x8 and itīs just awesome.

Blade shape is different from the usual wood prop. Main benefit i discovered is you almost got now stall at the prop blades, e.g. when hovering. I feels like you got more "grip" in the air.

Even went up to a 16x. size prop on an axi 4120/20 - really good.

In my opinion the best prop for 3D.

Greetings from Germany.

Marcel

Stupid question but what is a "pjn"? I am running the 15x6 APCe on my kids and it was only pulling around 54 amps and 1200 watts peak. I have some room...... Would a xoar 15x7 work. I assume xoar makes electric props?

PJN is the designation XOAR uses for their electric series of beechwood props...I've had very good performance from them. Will break if you have a prop stike and more expensive than the APC E props.

Great plane Tim. I kind of want one after seeing yours yesterday. It was amazing that it handled that wind as well as it did! If it was that impressive in 25-30mph gusts, I can only imagine how sweet it will be in dead air..

Are either of the ailerons warped? I recovered one of my planes and had a trim issue. Looking at the plane from the back I could see that one aileron was warped while the other was straight. To fix it you can just tweek the aileron to make it straight and then re-shrink the covering. I have had to do this with factory produced planes before as well.

Also, I think people tend to jump to the thrust angle or wing incidence as the cause of problems way to quickly. Things like warped surfaces, CG and linkage geometry have fixed many of my problems.

Tim, where are you getting the Xoar 15x7 PJN's? All I can find are 15x6 and 15x8. My motor does 1400 watts on a 15x7 APC, and supposedly Xoar's load a little less than APC's, so I ordered a 15x8 Xoar. We'll see.

Check the link above. Abellhobby has the best price on all the Xoar props. I purchased several 15", 16", and 19" props last week. They are about 15% to 30% cheaper than other sites.

Thanks Vien, if I need more props I'll order from them (I found a coupon for Tower though so I got them there).

Unfortunately I still don't see the 15x7 at Abell.
