I started using a HPP-21 this week also, thanks to Doc's input. All six of my 5245mg's were set at 1(dead band), The 5685's in my 78" were also fine. I did enjoy resetting the center points, and end throw! What a treat! my 78" is setup perfect now, and I picked up 5deg on the elevator. Don't know how I lived without it? The HP22 interface is only $27.00!

I got a hfp-25 today. Can't wait to get done work and check my shiznit.

I have a question about mounting the servos.

In the manual it shows using the grommets and brass inserts for mounting the servos.
The aileron cutouts aren't big enough. Is everyone mounting these directly? It's the perfect size for the HITEC servos, but w/o grommets.

So...if mounting directly there is a small area where the mounting screws have no thread. It seems the mounting screws need to be replaced if going with this option.

Ecaa3d,

The rubber grommets, and sleeves will fit in the cut outs. You might need to shave 1/32", or so from the sheeting, but they fit fine.

the aileron holes are perfect size for the servos with the grommets, i think when i tightened mine down they sat in the recess better

Mine isn't perfect....I took a good 1/32 off of each side of the cutout, still have to squeeze it in. No big deal.... just thought maybe they changed some things up recently. Watching the Lazer build video he isn't using them so I assumed as such. The mounting screws would have run out of thread in my case(did the measurement) so I'll shave a bit off the cutout.

No problam. The laser is differant due to the size of the servo's. Smaller HS65(size servo's) dont have brass and rubbers. The larger 5245 size servo rely on the rubbers for proper mounting.

My 7245's all show 2:16 for dead band width. What's that mean? I don't have time to research (cuz I got flying to do!). But really is 2 around center and 16 at the ends I dunno.

I have the HV-5665MG's in my 73" Sbach and I'm not overly impressed with their centering. But, probably to be expected from $50 sport digitals.

2 is the current value, 16 is the highest it will go. Set it to 1.
