If you're unsure about the plane, just to be safe, set the throws to the low end of the recommended range on the low rates for elevator(8 degrees) and ailerons(15 degrees), I don't really think you need to add more expo, if you do I wouldn't go above than 10% more because it will start to effect the way the feel of the plane should be. Remember, the recommended low rate settings will allow the plane to feel very smooth and precise so I don't think you'll have much trouble, where you can get in trouble is on the high rates, just get it up and trimmed out on the low rates and then experiment with the high rates a few mistakes high until you get your settings adjusted to your preference. Honestly I think you'll be fine if you set it up exactly as the manual recommends, it shouldn't take long to get comfortable with it, then just fine tune the throws and expo to your comfort zone.
