Wanted
I'm ready to buy tonight- large electric motor, esc and bec

I have a extra 260 weighing in about 11-12lbs. I was originally looking into a turnigy c8085-250 but can't seem to find one in stock anywhere. I want the plane to have unlimited 3D capability. If you have a electric motor that will work for me, along with esc and bec let me know!!!

I need this stuff ASAP and this money Is burning a hole in my pocket!

Hambone,

Vien is a standup guy who has a lot of experience with the big motors you are looking for. You can trust that any test data or other information he gives will be the real deal.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks I really appreciate that considering I don't really know anyone here personally yet

Vienquach, Ive been looking at some motors that are in the 300 dollar range, and that is a bit too much for me right now, that's why the turnigy c8085-250 was appealing to me at less than a hundred bucks and still have plenty of power. Right now I would like to stay around the 100 dollar range for a motor, and about the same for a esc/bec. Of course, I would like to spend less than that on used equipment to save money, that way I can put the other cash towards batteries etc..

Basically I want to go as cheap as I can and still get the performance I need

But let me know what you have

I saw another ad here for 70 bucks, it was a Himax hc6320 250

Thanks

Thanks Steve.

The Himax 6320-250 you're looking at might have enough power for "some" 3D flight, and $75.00 seems to be a good deal. You need to run it on 8s with 20x10 prop or maybe 1" larger.

If you want more power, look for the Hacker A50-L series (14L or 16L), 2 oz more but it will also give you several more pounds of thrust. ~$130.00

You mentioned that the 78" Extra used to weigh 10 lbs (flying weight). What brand is it? 78" 3D planes often weigh around 12-13 lbs. 71" 3D planes weigh around 10 lbs.

Sorry about that I don't know how I mistyped that. It's the seagull extra 260 63" wingspan. I believe it said flying weight was 9 lbs but I did add some weight with repairs and wanted to be on the safe side.

63" wingspan, the Himax 6320-250 might be on the heavy side (450g + mount + adaptor). Also 63" span is too small for it.

You might want to look for a motor that weighs around 380 - 400g to run 6s-4000 (or 6s-5000) with 18x10 prop to keep the weight low.

Hacker A50-16s, 378kv, 385g or so will do the job. I have one for sale at $80.00, great running condition, selling since I have several of them. I had several flights on it with a 70" 3DHS Slick (around 10 lbs).
