It makes a big difference on what charger you need to know what kind of battery packs you want to charge. If you have 3S 2200 MAH batteries a 50 watt charger will be fine, if you want to charge 6S 5000 MAH batteries it is a whole other ballgame.

Yeah... If I had a need for charging 6S 5000mah batts, I probably wouldn't be looking for a charger that's <$75, ya think? I asked for advice on chargers under $75. You apparently felt a need to answer a question that I didn't ask. Do you have an opinion on which charger under $75 is the best buy for the money based on features, quality, etc.? I know what I want to charge. Do you know anything about any specific chargers under $75?

Accucel-8 ($46 plus shipping) will get you 150 watts max / 7 amps max .... but you will need a power supply to go with that like ..... > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_5906wt_1372 ($37.85 shipped).

YES I am slightly over the $75 mark .... but just showing that a few dollars more will get you more amps and way more watts .... if you need it.

I know lots of people who use the AC680 and love it.

About a year ago I started moving into bigger planes, hotter EDF set-ups and, of course, larger mAh packs.

I had been using the HK Quattro and, like Capt. Obvious said, it was fine for my 220mAh and smaller batts.
Charging my big packs on it was killin' me.

I bought this charger just a few weeks back and have been pushing it hard. So far so good.

It's been pooh-poohed quite a bit here on RCG but it seems they may have finally gotten the bugs worked out of it. I know this along with a paraboard are just outside your price range but I thought I pass it on.

Charger is fine but is only 50watts. No need to waste money on that HK power supply with 12.5 amps. You can get a 12v5a laptop power supply for $10 shipped and they are fairly good quality.

Better get used to that. It's pretty common for noobs to post questions that can't be properly answered without more details. It's just an attempt to provide a more helpful and accurate reply, not an attack on your intelligence.
