Futaba 8UAPS compatibility with Hitec 555 recievers

I have been using Hitec gear for several years. I am considering purchasing a Futaba radio because of specific features no HItec radio provides. My question is if the Futaba Xmiter is compatable with my existing Hitec receivers. The Hitec 555's have been used with Hitec transmitters, and I am not sure if they are positve or negtive pulse. Not sure of Futaba either. Can someone clarify?

Thanks,

Joe

They work fine. Just be sure to by the futaba compatible 555, as they make them for all brands of radios. The futaba compatible 555s have FUT in a green circle on the rx label.

Greg,

Thanks for the reply. I understand from your post then, that my current 555's are NOT compatible with the Futaba, as they do not have a green FUT label on them, since they came with my Hitec transmitters. I am not interested in buying Futaba compatible 555's, rather to use my existing ones. Apparenlty, I can not use them.

Thanks,

Joe

Your Hitec 555s will work fine with the Futaba 8UA series if they're Hitec compatible, and not marked for Airtronics/JR. The Hitec/Futaba have the same shift, the only difference is that the one marked Futaba has the case keyed to take the tab on the Futaba servos.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Azzar is right though, your fine if your rx doesnt have the airtronics, etc. label on it.

Both Hitec and Futaba are negative shift.

JR and Airtronics are positive shift.

It should work fine.

Thanks everybody for the information. I also found out that with the latest "S" Futaba, you can use the 555 for a 2 servo aileron wing by telling the transmitter to put the 2nd aileron on the 5th channel. Tht is great.
