I will be using a 50amp esc with a separate BEC and want a decent motor that will fit into the frame as per stock with out any mods and that I can purchase here in the UK. Hay I am impatient lol

Thanks in advance

anybody there that will help with some advice re: motor. Want to have lots of power but dont want it hanging out the fuse. Tried that with the SS and it flexed to much. Any advice most welcome...and needed

You might want to look at my posts on the rimfire 10 motor I added, seems like most people that upgrade the motor are adding a brushless motor that has a outside diameter of 35mm and a kv range of 1000 to 1400. Also when you up the motor the ECS should be upgraded too.

Foam wing glue

Raptor owners, what type of glue are you using on the foam wings? I poped the tip of the wing spar out on a twisted landing. I glued it back with RC-56 glue which worked but its a little gummy.

Wheels on Raptor EX...
Lets see...

PS the wheel base stays on the raptor using 4 short wood screws (you tighten them from inside the fuselage). So in case of a hard landing ( or accident) the screws just pop out and stay on the wheel base.
Everything in theory of course. I will inform the thread with test results and video documents.

I snapped my wings in half!

Hotglued them and used a wooden spoon on still hot glue to level the wing surface....
It still holds perfectly!

(I am almost certain that I own the ugliest, most beaten up Raptor EX!)

Lulz!! I spit my coffee! You guys are too funny. Beware the deadly hand launch! I ripped that damn decal off the plane after my first hand launch fail. I swear it was laughing at me

Epoxy and/or white gorilla glue.

Firatp,
Very nice flight. Thank you for the vid.

Wheelset ready and tested on ground. The Raptor is turning with rudder controls.
Will it take off?
Hopefully I'll test tomorrow.

- BC2826/10 1400KV (rctimer) + 8x4 + 40A => Ok, but i found it a little bit underpowered, hard with windy day and diffilcult to get a good climbing rate
- BC2836/6 1500KV (rctimer) + 8x5 + 40A => Ok, current setup
- 2215/20 1100KV (EMAX) + 8x6 + 40A => Ok too, didn't notice the difference with previous, maybe lower amps consumption.... have to check
Thanks, I installed 2836/6 with stock prop and it works great. I simply used the 3 of the 4mm screws that came with it to mount it to the stock mount...no mods required. I am going to try 8*6 prop and check current draw but it has much more pulling power than stock. Motor gets hot(70c) but ESC(40) is ok.

Current at full static throttle=27A=304W on 3S and stock prop 8*4
