how would you repair this rudder?

good 'ole slow stick - i think i did one off-center loop too many. the rudder was hanging by a thread (picture taking the foam and bending back and forth until its almost ready to break in 2). So now my rudder is about the height of the fuse shorter.

so now do i just have a slightly shorter rudder and get on with flying?

and what tips do you have for me for reinforcing this?

Hmm, I don't know, fly it and see.. I think you'd have a hard time making a slowstick unflyable. If worse comes to worse trace a new one out of the cardboard box the slowstick came from. That's what I did when mine needed a new elevator. Good luck!

If it hasn't broken all the way off (or even if it has) glue it with epoxy, O-CA or probond. If you think it needs additional reinforcing you can also add some scotch or packing tape on each side.

One other word - clear packing tape.

Ron H's word is the right one. I have had to do that on my TM when I sliced threw it when I de-treed it.

thanks all - i have 12 words for you

strapping tape holding a balsa reinforced base held together by packing tape.

keeps the stock size and is considerably stronger.

it even almost looks great.... from 5 feet .... if you squint.
