12 x 6 prop draws 850W at 55A....still crazy but we will fly it !

Awesome maiden flights today ! This plane is freakin perfect ! Soft and floaty/fast and furious. Think I will get a backup though....

Did any of you guys have your canopy fly off during some maneuvers? Yesterday it fell off after a tumble and snap roll, and today it fell off during a knife edge spin. Couldn't find it today, have to order another from rob.

It shouldn't if the canopy latch was fully engaged...

I agree with this... however My canopy did fit as tightly after my repairs. The canopy would not quite stay on because it also took a little damage in the crash. I glued a small piece of wood on the outside of the canopy between the canopy and plane just under the latch to provide one more spot for the latch to catch. This might call for a picture.

Anyways it has worked great for me for 7 flights and I ain't being gentle.

Possibly need to pull the latch pin out a bit. I have seen then slide out too much, but have also seen then get pushed in too far.

k here are some pics that show what's up with my canopy... hope this helps somebody. You can see just how badly my canopy fits now but you would never guess by how well it stays put and what it looks like from the front and in the air.

could bring hole down ... I also use medium CA and glue a small washer on the back..

another thought is that kind of lift in the back makes me think you need some more cowl height in the front.. when fitting the cowl do you put a strip of electrical tape across the front of the canopy insert to make some more room when fitting the cowl? just that amount of space after its removed really helps if you refit the cowl...canopy should set better.... just a guess

Just bought a nearly fully built 48" edge from a guy that leaves near me. All I need to do is drop a receiver in there and install the servos and I'm good to go. Can't wait to fly this plane.

Just recently purchased a used Carbon Z Yak and I think it's fun... I expect this plane to blow it away.

One quick question - should I go 4s or 3s? I'm thinking I'll go 4s because I love the speed but if there's a compelling reason to go 3s I'd like to hear it.

Thanks
