Marco....
Get rid of that HS-82, it has NO bearings in it at all. The output shaft rides on the rim of the case and they wear out very quickly, and get real sloppy, real quick... SteveT |

Marco, I disagree with Steve on this... use the 82 till it IS sloppy and then replace it. I hate to have someone waste money not getting the use out of equipment they have already purchased.

Snoopy has to stay he is a legacy and only made out of dollar tree foam board so is VERY light. The weight, tail wheel and Snoopy were in Franken Edge along with hot glue, packing tape, extra balsa from repairs, and a bunch of decals and vinyl graphics and it still only weighed 45.6 ounces with the same battery. Not going to sweat the weight difference as I said it flies fine.
Steve thanks for the heads up on the servo. That explains why it was only 19.99 instead of 29.99 for the HS-85MG I thought I was getting. It will get pulled soon. |

Had the "SFG'd" Edge out again for some quick flights before going away for a few days. Getting used to the "new" Huck. Flew in gusts to 25 yesterday- no worries, only getting blown over on the ground or off the bench! Did some blenders, KE spins and flat spins, wow- flat as a pancake and even climbing flats! Also the lomcevaks are awesome. Still tweaking the poptops. Oh, parachutes, elevators straight down. Really enjoying it. KE and slow rolls are much cleaner too. Can you tell I like the SFGs?

Glad you like those SFG's. They also a good for not scrapping up your wingtips on a crappy landing.
Has anyone tried any of the OS electric motors? Seriously considering getting the .25 960 kv for the newest Edge and putting the new Omega in the Franken Edge. looks ok... a little on the heavy side but over 700 watts on this plane would be nuts!

Is there any way you could give more prop data for the OS? Just kidding!!!! |

Just something I was considering and as far as the extra weight goes I could just remove the one ounce of ballast I added to the nose. Omega on 4s is supposed to be around 700 watts with a 12x6. A 4s 2200 is probably at least an ounce heavier than a 3s 2200 of the same C rating. Almost 7 lbs of thrust on a 3 lb Edge ought to be entertaining. Like I said I am considering this, will probably come to my senses by tomorrow.

Oh dang I killed the thread again! Life interfered with my flying today but things are looking better for Friday. Bought the wife a new camera that does full 1080 HD video for Xmas so maybe some decent videos in the future. HS-85MG on the way to replace the 82. Thanks again for the warning Steve.
