When you mount the wire landing gear, use the no epoxy method. Makes for a very clean install and will allow for you to easily remove the wire and replace it should you need to at some point in the future.

There are several post within this thread on the mod.

Also, you may want to fly your Edge without the gear leg fairings. I've read several posts about the fairing poking a hole in the fuse when the wire bends on a hard landing. If you are greasing your landings then you probably won't have any issues but there is always that "one" time.

Regarding props.........APC, Xoar and Falcon are all great; 14X7 and 13X6.5 seem to be the preferred size. The beechwood props are half the weight of the APC (faster spool up) but twice the expense and certainly more fragile.

The wooden props do not fit the 1.5" spinner factory prop cut-outs; you will need to enlarge the blade openings. Take your time and you can get a nice fit.

AR6115e would work, but if you could get your hands on an AR400 (or preferably an AR500, so you don't need a Y harness for the ailerons so they can be adjusted individually) that would be best.

Not a spektrum guy anymore, but thats what my opinion is!

I'm using the AR6115E in all my 3D planes from 40 size and down. Works very well and has more than enough range. I.e., I've taken the Edge and my other planes up so high that they were just a dot in the sky, and the AR6115E's link remains solid as a rock. Been using them for two seasons now and not a single problem with 'em.

The D658 is great for the rudder and would work for the ailerons and elevator as well. However you will need to enlarge the servo openings in order for the case to fit. No prob for the rudder, I'd think twice about doing that for the elevator and aileron locations. Plus the D658 is heavier, 26 grams, no big deal sitting by the wing tube.

ESC and spinner look fine.

The APC prop has good performance but it is heavier than a Falcon or Xoar 13X6.5 or 14X7.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with the Nanotech packs. I've had very good results with Glacier (EP Buddy), GensAce (Hobby Partz) and GeForce (Value Hobby). All 3S 2200mAh and 30C discharge or higher.

When setting up your plane and using the recommended 3DHS setup, everything is "proven" to work. Also if you need some assistance there are plenty of guys flying with the recommended setup and could provide some help.

If you are willing to experiment (like me) and take a risk on trying some alternate components you can find a setup that will provide great performance, be reliable and save you some cash.

would the exceed have enough power ?
the power looks like its much lower ?
any suggestions ?
thanks

It's a rocket on 4s! I've flown it on that setup as well. I personally prefer the lighter/floatier 3s setup but it's nice to have a choice!

14x7 or 13x6.5 seem to be the unanimous winners for 3S.

I don't know which motor you are referring to or what the specs are. But if it's similar (in weight and KV) to the Omega 130 then you will want a 14x7 or 13x6.5.
