Hi there Alex. Long time no speak.. I hope all is well.
Yes, I will be ordering the 8FG as well myself from Tower tonight (cost more but I like its bigger LCD). How did you find the transition? The interface seems much less friendly but I guess it is the signal strength that counts.

Yeah! I've been following this thread silently for a while
The 8FG tops the DX8, DX7s, and the 7C...by A LOT!
The interface is incredibly easy, (just like any new radio, it will take some time to get used to) but I can whirl right through the menus with the sensor touch and I've only had it since FRIDAY!!!
Just give it some time, it may get a littoe frustrating, but it has soo many more features!!!!

Just got back from 3 flights. I'm amazed at how well it handles wind. Tail scraping harriers in 30mph gusting wind like it was nothing.

Dang!! Tail dragging harries in 30mph winds is pretty impressive indeed!!

I'm guessing that like others in that region of the world that you have to deal with flying in windy conditions or you wouldn't get to fly much.

I'm pretty lucky in these parts. 10mph winds are abnormal and most days are around 5-6 but the mornings and evenings are typically below 5.

Yeah, I've gotten used to it. I'd love to have your kind of weather here. I've even considered doing night only flights since the wind is usually under 10mph when it gets dark.

I consider myself pretty lucky. I know that DaveBloomer also has to deal with your kind of winds too. I used to avoid flying in the wind but lately I've learned to just enjoy it. But my flying style changes a bit when flying in wind versus flying in calm conditions. Although you'd probably laugh at my definition of wind! I consider anything 10mph and above to be pretty windy.

I've flown in winds up to 20mph or so and had fun with it but I do prefer anything 5-6mph or less. Recently I was doing stationary rollers into the wind as a freak storm came out of nowhere during a flight. It was pretty sweet! Also, those down wind tumbles can be insanely violent (with the Slick)! But my favorite was probably just getting into a good torque roll just a few inches off the ground and letting the wind carry it down the street!!

Thanks man! I also flew my Extra yesterday too and man or man am I falling in love with that thing. I took some video of it as well but I had my hat at a bad angle so a lot of it was out of frame. It's a shame too because I was really jamming (for me at least... some people would laught at my definition of "really jamming").

I've got the EF 60" Edge but I think I want to consider getting either the 3DHS 58" Edge or the 72" Extra next!
