I cut them, because I wanted to make wires as short as it possible. Haven't had any issues with getting lacquer off of the wires.

Otherwise, I would think you have some sort of connection issue. You could have a bad solder joint on one of your bullet connections that has come loose and isn't making a solid connection.

Hopefully it is something simple that you can fix easily.

When I turn the motor in my hand it does feel harder to turn, but not by much. Didn't notice any smell while I was carrying it back or taking it apart. Strange that it would choose to overheat now when it's hardly 70 degrees out!

Some people have all the luck....

No reason why you can't.....will just look a bit ugly as it will be 1/2" too big.....so, will overlap by a 1/4"..

A 2" spinner will work but is over-sized.

A 1.5" spinner is a very nice fit with the cowl.

Hmmm...I did just that today myself; rolling circle got a little "wide" and that pesky pine tree got in the way! My leading edge is only smushed back about a 1/4" and the top of the rudder is broken when it fell to the ground inverted out of the tree got pretty lucky overall...

Can anyone speak to this? Is this a function of the motor or more appropriately the ESC? I am using a ZTW ESC (soft start?)

Don't use soft start, that is for helis

I don't know about soft-starts... I prefer my throttle to go from zero to hero in an instant. It's saved my plane quite a few times.

Must be something special about pine trees. I think they have a tractor beam. There is one near my house that has grabbed 2 of my micros and tried to grab my Stryker, but it bounced out. A couple of weeks ago my neighbor had to climb it to retrieve his sons' AirHog plane. First time I climbed it to get my Su-26xp there was the remains of a kite near the top.
