Well, I dawned my trusty set square and gave rebuilding the front end a shot.
With some help from: - Pop Sticks - 30min Expoxy - Thin CA - Medium CA - Accelerator - Fibre Glass Resin (for the Cowl) It looks fairly straight, but with nothing to reference it to, it was a stab in the dark. I basically came to the conclusion of, its already broken, how much worse can I make it? Pre: Post: Once its all dry and happy, I'll give it ago and see how badly the trust angle has been altered. |

Battery Flight Time
My setup -- 130G Omega, 60A ZWT, 14x7APC, GenAce 3S 2200mAH 25C
I initially set my timer to 5 minutes then upped it to 6. Today I guess I was flying higher throttle because of wind and because of those loud nitro planes I couldn't hear my on-board beeper. I ended up losing power about 20 seconds short of 6 minutes and had to ditch in the high grass. Fortunately I had a head wind and just enough power left to harrier in with zero ground speed, not a scratch on the plane. But, I'd like to up my flight time. Options-- I have a Zoar 14x7 wood prop. Don't know how much more efficient it will be. My guess I also need a metric reamer to set it up. I could buy a couple 13x6.5 APC. Some say a 13x6.5 is big enough on 3S with that motor. I could buy some 2600mAH 3S. I wouldn't mind having more but then I have two different sizes and have to remember what to set my timer to. Suggestions and tips welcome. -l2t |

13x6.5 will get you a little bit more time. Maybe another 30 seconds it has IMO slightly less thrust so it requires a touch more throttle but the smaller size spins up easier so you use less amps /watts. Nothing wrong with it I have made about 25 flights on it. I just like the 14x7 better if I had never tried one I would like the 13x6.5 more. That XOAR prop should slide right on by the way. I have 30c 2200 GForce batteries in mine. I have my timer set for 6 minutes. I fly hard for the first 3-4 minutes then go easy till the timer beeps at 5 minutes and am on the ground taxiing back or already stopped at 6 minutes, normally around 11.4 volts left in the battery. I have 2 2650 batteries that I can get 7 minutes out of but usually don't take with me due to the extra weight.

I can't imagine, how hard you are hacking, cause my timer is set to 7 minutes and I have 11.3V left after flight in my Zippy batteries. And it always recieves 1600-1800mAhs after my flights. I'm useing Hacker 12L with 13x6 wood prop now and waiting for Omega. May be Omega drains more amps? Or wood is more efficient?
