Did some checking on my connections and all my soldering work is ugly but sound. Then looked at the little spring tabs on the male Deans on my ESC and as suspected they are flat. Guess that is where the problem is. For now will have to solder on a new male Deans till I can switch to APP. Still need to do some static power tests on the motor, just have to wait for the wife to wake up. Everything looked good with the ESC when I had it on the Castle Link a short while ago.
They recommend 30A for 12-14 GA wire and 45A for 10 GA just based on size of wire/connector, and this is what I've been doing for the last 2 years or so. However one of the addicts said they use 45A for everything and if the wire is small they just double the bare wire back on itself before crimping which sounds like a great method to me as you don't have to deal with multiple ends. The 15,30, and 35A ends all fit in the same plastic housings and mate with each other btw.
