Anyone runnig a 40A ESC in theirs? I forget the amp draw for Omega 130, 13x6.5, 3S....

They claim about 500W on 3S with a 14x7 prop which is about 45 amps, so even if you loose 100W with a 13x6.5, you would still be pulling 36 amps which would be over 80% usage of the ESC (32 amps), so I wouldn't try it with a 40 amp ESC. Go with a 50 or 60 just to be sure, then you can upgrade to 4S in the future.

I think I got 37.6 amps with a 13x6.5 the one time I tested on my power meter. I don't currently have anything but 14x7 or I would go do a test for you. I have a Thunderbird 54 on mine. A static test draws more amps than an actual flying load so you would probably be OK with a 40 amp. I would not try it with a 14x7. Wow I'm too slow. It would probably work OK if you exercise some throttle control
