agree 100%

a plane this size should never have wire gear. its just too heavy. although its nice for the rough landings, they still get bent with smooth landings. I dont think it would have been a problem if 3DHS would have put CF gear on this plane to start with. If I would have known this I would have went with a Slick.

How much throw do you get using the 3DHS long servo arm? And what hole are you using?
About 45 with Stock arm maxed outer hole. Phenolic is one hole longer out from the stock hole.

Maybe it's a CG thing.
Mine does the same. I run the CG a bit forward as well. I've also found that now mine won't flat-spin without some throttle to pull the nose up a bit, probably also due to the CG being a little fore. When I had it more aft, it would flat spin no problem without throttle.
I flew a few packs Saturday, and did several "walls" about 10' from myself, the elevator didn't appear to blow back any at all.

Cool. I think you guys have "solved" my problem. I used to fly with my battery/CG back quite a bit and I had forgotten about that. It's a simple test, I'll slide my battery back again and see how she behaves. I started moving it forward to get rid of wing rock in harriers. Just need to find a happy medium I guess because I love doing flat spins and elevators and stuff like that.

The million dollar question, how do we cancel the wing rock AND still flatspin like a frisbee?
If anyone knows, SPILL THE BEANS!

Yeah, oddly enough, they're NOT listed on 3DHS' website, either.

Anyhoo, I've been looking for a ~60" airframe to replace the outdated Fliton I've got. Just a simple electronics swap, and go for it. But lately, I've been tossing the idea around of selling that whole setup, and putting together a 30cc gasser. (likely a 74 Edge, maybe a Slick)
I'm only equipped for electrics right now, so what are some of the things I would be looking at hauling around (aside from the obvious, gas.) Is there more kit to pack around, or less?

^ This post is likely better suited for the Fanatics thread. (not that it bothers me - but more gas pilots there)

True, I thought that's where I was....

While I'm here though, how much did the wire gear cost from 3DHS? I just shipped one to a guy, and have no idea what the price was, and of course, it's not on their site anymore. Thanks!

EDIT: Just found it on ADC's site.

Turnerm, instead of removing the elevator horn and trimming it why not just drill another hole in it closer to the elevator? Sorry with the late reply and now I see you figured out it was CG related. That's the problem of sleeping in the afternoon and early evening. Might help someone else out though.

Between the wind; fog, cold, rain and drizzle I haven't flown the Edge since Wednesday and that bites. I killed my F-27C a few weeks ago so I currently have no foul weather flier. Sim is only slightly better than not flying at all. Looks like this Wednesday is good for the winds so maybe some stick time then.

Weather has been crapola down here in South Australia, so my maiden is still yet to happen. However this does mean that I have been buying up more bits for mine.

Todays Purchase:
PA 1.8" Carbon Spinner
Vox 14x7 Beech Prop

Looks the biz now.
