Jeff:

You wanna fly in Cruces? Well, bring it on, we'd love to have you.

Our field is like a small version of Eloy: flat, featureless caliche dirt, right up to the fence line. Conditions range from challenging to fantastic. I can bring out a big pot of chile for lunch. Mark, Jim and Chris and I would love to see you guys down here.

Yours, Greg

And so it begins. Now we need to come up with a date. I would not want it at the same time as the AZ Open. That is just bad form. However, before the AZ Open might be nice for those who need to dust off some skills. Let the suggestions flow.

The AZ Open is 16-17 February, so that pretty much leaves 9-10 as the window.

Maybe Matt knows a location in Socorro we could use (perhaps better than the school yard we used last time?). That might be easier for more folks. Personally, I can do ABQ as well, but that would be tough for Mark.

If for some reason ASK can't make it, there are tasks we can fly that still teach. ASK taught us "HORSE" last time out, and it was great (Take it in turn to call a time, then everyone launches. You make the time, you get a letter. First to spell HORSE wins).

Yours, Greg

I would like to fly outside ABQ if possible. Socorro and Los Cruses are both good for me. Either of those are day trips and if we decide to do a 2 day event we have hotel/motel options.

Hand Launch this weekend

Hi everyone! I'm ensconced in a new glider design, prototyping and preparing for production, so I might not pop up very often.

Our calendar has this Saturday, January 26th for hand launch. Temps are pretty good compared to earlier this month, winds are ~10, but we're slated for rain on Saturday. I'm not keen on attempting flying on Saturday

Although I probably can't do Friday, and Sunday is also in question, these two days make more sense. Would you guys like to get together on Friday or Sunday?

The Balloon Fiesta Park might not be a good place for Sunday—apparently the soccer kids are coming out in droves.

Let's hear from everyone.

Aradhana Singh

Well , got to fly lots of auld w/J-ROC today
Conditions were nice ( high 50's cloudy) but subtle mostly soft lift that demanded smooth inputs/flying and any bad read left you flushed ....
Also got in qt practice (took J-roc like 3trys and then every qt was sub 1-sec)
To sum up J-ROC:
1-he read air like a red tail hawk
2- he can fly anything
3- he launch 200' all day
4- he don't care bout comps
5-he continually does acrobatics 10' off the deck
6- he inspires you to fly your best , and have fun
That's my bro

I remember Jason. Good guy, and excellent pilot. Even if he doesn't care about competition he should still join us for the fun alone!
