I'll fly anything...

Here is my step one of my first Rusty frame: (very good postage and service to New Zealand )

I have "Trex500" clone tubes from http://www.aliexpress.com

I did some searching... and I bought these: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/103700643.html where 6 tubes cost approx US$8 posted to New Zealand - they took 20 days. At that price, it was worth the gamble. They are 32 grams each. They are pretty thin (but I don't know how thick real ones are!) but I build to fly and shoot, not crash! They also make the T500 tailboom u-clamps from aluminium too.

628 grams so far... 850mm motor-motor. RCtimer 2836 motors, APC 10x4,7 props and 1 or 2 x 4S4000 lipo.

I'm so lazy. I apologize. I'll give you one free search on me after that silliness.

Rusty, thanks for the parts!

I didn't expect them until Tuesday, certainly started my new year out right.

HAPPY NEW Year.

OK, you finally guilted me into posting a few pictures

One is a pretty standard UAP1 with all the options, including the non-option dome. I still don't like the acrylic domes, but if anyone wants them, they can certainly buy them from the same place I did. Pity the Lexan version is double the price ($60).

http://www.cleardome.com/smalldomes.htm
(5-1/4" OD with 1/2" flange for Rev-8 or UAP1)

The headless copter has UAP1 plates with 5/8" blocks, which gives just enough space in the middle for the CC board to hide. I stuck the ESCs inside as well, but I'll probably take them out next chance I get, and put them back on the arms where they belong

Finally, a basic UAP1 copter intended for FPV use, and as a test for GPS telemetry using the latest beta version of CopterControl firmware.

Cheers,
Rusty

Rusty:

I'm assuming that the dome is 1/8" thick, correct? Also, I see on the sight that the prices of the Lexan domes come down as you order more. For example, if you order 10, then they are $48.80 each! I think that I would do a Lexan dome for that price.....
