Got the hatch fasteners installed. Finished the camera port and flat blacked the optical areas inside and out.

Covered the left wing panel.

Chris McNair sent the autopilot. Will work on that installation and may have to modify the ESC position.

Autopilot

Thanks Herk! The camera hides some sins, but I am pleased with the result.

The autopilot is installed. I have to reread the instruction manual before I apply power. No sense being in a rush with this thing.

Covering

Took over the dining room table for covering. One more day should do it.

Getting there

This thing's getting too big for the dining room table.

Almost Covered

I finished covering the fuselage and surfaces then assembled and weighed it. It's 80 3/4 ounces toward a goal of 82 ounces. The CG is back and left of where it has to go. So, to balance it, I will be a little over budget, but not bad.

Now I'll go over it so I can make notes on what's left to be done and complete the ground adjustments on the autopilot. Then, it's definitely the home stretch.

Covered

Finished the Monokote.

I'm about half way through ground check out of the Autopilot. The Atto 3.0 is very different from the v1.8 and 2.0.

It's getting there. Turned out to be more than the original sketch. I'll have to practice hand holds to launch this thing.

I am having some problems with the Autopilot so I may revert to straight RC for testing. Have to wait to capture data.

Ah...domestic chores and pending surgery are causing delays. Probably a couple of weeks.

Looks good Tom. Really looking forward to hearing how she comes out and if it matched what you had envisioned from the start. Many of my scratch builds look very different from my original design.

Good luck on your surgery and I hope you are 100% real soon.

Thanks guys!

The surgery is the second time around for a hernia repair. I'll walk funny for a while, then things should be better.

Frank,

Thanks - Laproscopic surgery is definitely better than the old method! I'm doing great.

The wife has just let me get back to my workbench and computer. I have my post op check up tomorrow.

Then, back to work.
