I hope it's ok to ask this group about what radios you are using. I lost my 3rd plane to radio failure this weekend, and each time it's been with an Aurora. I've never had any issues with my $6 cheapo orange copies on Spektrum, but dang if my Aurora hasn't cost me over $1000 in planes now. I've also had good luck with Futaba!

So, Perhaps the question is... if you guys had to buy a new system, which would you pick between a Futaba 10CG and a JR 9503? Thoughts, comments appreciated. I'm really hesitant to fly with my Aurora now. The feeling of being locked out is terrible. If the XPS were real I would get one, but I'm totally unsure now long that will be! Maybe that's an option too.

Very cool. Looks like Leseberg reclaimed the Invitational title from AJ this year as well.

There must be some issue with your radio or setup. I don't think any of us at Rogue flying the A9 have ever had an issue and I've not seen anything to speak of in the forums regarding any A9 lockouts.

I'm going to box it all up and sent it back for a check. I can't afford these problems when it's not me crashing them! This was my most expensive crash yet and it really hurts.

The ESC was totally on fire, I have to wonder if perhaps I had an ESC failure as it shouldn't have burned up just from a crash.

It sounds more like ESC failure, were you using the ESC's BEC for system power? No modern radio system will suffer from random lockouts, there is always some other underlying cause (unless the transmitter is damaged).

I likely was an ESC failure, very sad. This was the first flight on a brand new Castle 50 lite. This is what it looks like now.

It looks like one of the input capacitors is missing, maybe it had a bad solder joint or was bumped too many times and broke loose in flight. That could lead to bad ripple which could toast the ESC.

That's one of the reasons why I will only use the ESC's built-in BEC on foamies, it's just too easy for an ESC to go poof.

I'll be out there Saturday morning, assuming I can maintain some level of 'moderation' tonight.

Guess you moderated well
Good to see you come out. Hope to see the 87 out someday.

Cool to see BenT come out as well.

I always assume Kevin and Phil are a given

Was thinking of flying Sun, but got wrangled into some work, and
it's the wife's bday as well.
