Does anyone have the Curare 40 plans set from MK kits?
Many thanks

Link to down load plans

Here are the links to download the plans, root and stab profiles and compufoil ribs.

Jim

This is the file for the tip and root profiles. These are from the German plan.

See post #10 below.

Here is the original 18.5MB scanned file.

Jim,

thanks for the docs. I have a printed plan that was kindly sent to me but I haven't gotten around to scanning it. I guess I won't have to anymore. Mine might be slightly cleaner without the dark smudges in the center. If I do it, I'll re-post the clean version.

In the meantime, I was able to reduce the size of the actual MK plan to 10% of it's original - not sure why it was 18 MB - probably a raster to vector conversion.

I'll post it here for ease of access.

David.

Thanks David, and have a nice Thanksgiving Day Weekend (Canada). I swapped your smaller file out from link with the original 18MB file. Could have the been the dpi size it was originally scanned in or scanned at colour or gray scale settings. The Canon printer at the plant will create some pretty large pdf scans from customer drawings if the setting are not correct.

Jim,

Thanks for sharing your Curare 40 plan. I took the time to clean it up and resize to the correct wingspan of 57 1/8". I don't know what happened with the original but after downloading it and opening it up mine had a wingspan of about 242 inches. Davids reduced filesize PDF also has a 242 inch wingspan although in a significantly reduced size. Thats a big sized Curare 40! Trying to print this one out would have given someone quite a surprize.

I also took the time to straighten the side view of the fuse so there's an accurate centerline down the fuse and connected the rudder portion that was separate to the side view as well.

I'm working on straightening the topview as it has quite and arc from tip to tail. I will post it later. I love these MK plans. It appears this particular one has seen better days. That paper sure shrinks alot around the edges on these old plans. Hope you like this fixed version.

Bryan

Update topview is straightened, all done.

Curare 40 Wing Ribs

With some help of an RCU member, I've managed to learn how to set the spar in proper position to match the MK Curare plans. I've adjusted the L.E. for 10mm including the false LE.,and adjusted the TE to 40mm (aileron strip and TE). The spar is drawn at 5X10mm as shown on the MK plans. The ribs are drawn on legal paper 8.5 X 14.00.
