One of the AZ guys that builds his own planes uses the raptr pod:

My budget is very similar. Realistically though I think I should be able to find reasonable parts somewhere south of $70. The Raptr pod is $35+S&H and an Allegro boom is $23+S&H. If I can get south of that I consider it a huge win.
