Comment: that's why I never had the nerve to buy a Blaster!

I'd like to see you perform this test on other molded wings, i.e Concept, Stobel, etc. Afterwards, send the broken wings to me, and I'll nurse them back to health.

Tom, I wish I had a video of when I introduced Phil to the concept of armored leading edges. We mocked one up using just 3M77 to attach fabric to a foam core and proceeded to hack the crap out of an old Taboo wing of his!

That video of yours is priceless!

Very interesting video, thank you for sharing. That demonstration echoes my experience with hollow molded and solid core mishaps. Even when I knew it was coming, I still have to admit I cringed pretty bad...

Tom, sorry for the ot post. I'm trying to place an order to R&G. I'm having trouble creating a new account as the sign in process will not let me choose the country (USA)? can anyone who has ordered thru them help me w/this? Also how do you get the VAT exempt? You can PM me to keep this kind of trash out of an otherwise beautiful thread on a superb model .... thanks

Incredible video Tom, thanks for posting. Man that wing took a few whacks and held up good! The red and white one is not too shabby either. I can appreciate a wing that will take a full-on assault.

Put country "other" and in the "what I have to say" fields at the bottom, just label your whole shipping address as formatted for your country. It's always worked perfectly for me.

The "other" flag just makes their customer service go in and calculate VAT (or lack thereof) and shipping.

I just did this again yesterday with no problems.

FWIW in the video the solid core wing was NOT one of my armored ones, and it was hiload 40 core. The stuff I'm building for production is far tougher if you can believe it.

Thought you guys would like that one

Thanks TOM!!!!!

I watched that video and my wife was watching over my shoulder, and she says to me, "So those are those the DLF wing thingys that you wont let me touch, and this guy is smashing them together!!!!??????"

Still not letting anyone else touch them, not even the lady friend!

Maybe you should let her buy one for you, then she can touch yours!

Chris,

I just add a 12k spread tow ribbon along the LE in the top and bottom mold before finishing the skins. I'm pretty sure it's significant overkill but I like having it there.

I'll do a "part two" video using the wing to chop apart some household items later. Should be fun.
