QUOTE: I revised the colour scheme on my Osiris to look more Canadian, and bit less red-white-and-blue stars-and-stripes. Easy to do, and I'm quite happy with it.

Looks great...not as busy.
1 star per wing and 1 on each side of the fuse is enough.

Looks Great Andy! I have been thinking of doing the exact same thing. How did you remove the stars?

12x6 vs 11x7

Well I tried the Osiris with an 11x7 (have been flying a 12x6) there seems like quit a difference. It was colder today, may have made a bit of difference???
The plane was noticeably faster, seems like it had some torque roll at higher throttles .may have been my flying. Id like to try both a 11x7 and 12x6 on the same day.

How did the vertical performance compare? Climb, downline prop braking.

Faster in the vertical (both are unlimited), constant speed in the down line. Id have to try them back to back to compare down line speed.

Well my Aspera finally died (due to pilot error) after a gazillion flights. It was my favorite!

So I will replace it with an Osiris (I was kind of waiting for the opportunity)

However I have no 4s packs, doing the 3s, 6s, 9s..... thing. Is anyone flying it on 3s or 6s?

You could definitely fly it on 3S, you just need the right weight packs and a higher KV motor than the 130g Omega, around 1150KV. You'll be pulling more amps on 3S to get the same wattage, so will need a bigger ESC. 6S would work too, if you had packs small enough. just compare the weight of the recommended packs to what you have, and go from there.

I'm starting my build and have a couple of questions.

This is my 1st pull-pull rudder, how tight do I need the cables to be? I know not so tight as to stress the servo/control horn mounting. But is there a way to know how tight?

Also, where do you guys put the rx? I see a ply piece marked RX but no obvious place for those 4 screws.

TIA
Vincent

Tight enough they are snug, but don't twang/sound when you pluck them. 8" behind the servo, mine move 1/2" sideways without much pressure at all.

just taught, no slack/slop....we're not after guitar playing

make sure the rudder centers after going left and right separately

they are going to loosen up after a handful of flights and you'll make a slight adjustment, so don;t stress on it too much.

I Put mine over the Rudder servo. I glued some balsa block to the fuse sides using medium CA. Then I cut some popsickle sticks to the proper size, drilled some pilot holes for some servo mounting screws, Then the screws. I then removed the screws and put some thin CA in the threads, let it dry, then re-inserted the screws. I then glued the Rx Tray to the Popsickle sticks and mounted the Rx using velcro. If, When I need to work on the rudder servo or linkage, I just remove the 4 screws and I have access to the rudder servo, or linkage.
