PS: Like others have posted, I fly my Polecat with Hyperion 160's. I tried the stock battery on it once, and it flew ok. But the Hyp 160 with its 25C really improves performance and eliminates worry about hitting LVC prematurely and having uncontrolled rough landings due to power brownouts. I use them in all my higher performance micros = Sukhoi XP, Corsiar, T-28, and P-51 and they've made a huge difference.

Maidened the 'Cat this morning. It was pretty windy, but man, this plane is awesome!!
No trim needed at all.
I used the Miniaviation 190mah's with them as far forward as it could go.
The UM T-28 would bob and weave fairly well in a breeze but the 'Cat was as solid as a rock. Rolls were superb, immelmans, split-s's, inside and outside loops no probs at all. slow flight was fairly slow too!
I can't wait to put some more batteries through her, for me, this thing is the perfect step up from the UM T-28. Love it!!

Wow I did not realize this plane was such a performer!

Looks like this will be my next UM. I was going to get the Corsair as I love war birds but this one looks like one to really fly in a parking lot. This can be the go for it stable mate to the wonderful UM Champ.

Just had another awesome flight, BUT....

The aileron servo died/locked up, and I nosed her in fairly hard. Bit of a crinkled nose and ailerons still not working
Will send her back on Monday, hopefully HH's reps in Australia will sort me out

Is the Ultra Micro Pole Cat too much to handle for beginner? Can't fly this in strong wind?

I think its too much for a beginner, I would prolly go with a champ for a beginner and maybe try this one out for your second 4 channel plane. Its nothing insane like the sbach but it is pretty much just like the sukhoi xp.

Before a beginner goes to a flat wing plane, he should fly a high wing that self rights, like a Champ, then move on to a low wing, that self rights less, like a T-28, before attempting a non self righting plane.

And if and only if, you do it with a good, computer radio with expo.

otherwise, there will be lots of crashing and plane repairs.

None of the micros can fly in a strong wind. Many can fly in a steady wind of 10 mph, but it is so much easier to fly in the calm. Beginners shouldn't fly any micro in wind stronger than 5 mph, even using a plane that at an experienced pilot can fly in a 20 mph wind.

There are just too many things that an experienced pilot has a feel for and has learned to do naturally, that a beginner won't do and will result in a crash.
