Supra-e Competition Typical Weights

Total structure 1258g 44.4 oz
Wiring loom 35g 1.2 oz
Glue etc 15g 0.5 oz
Rx, ESC, servos 140g 4.9 oz
Motor & geabox 180g 6.6 oz
Prop & spinner 37g 1.3 oz
Flight battery 140g 4.9 oz
Flying weight 1805g 63.7 oz

And electronics I will use:

Motor: Mega 16/25/2
Gearbox: KPG 5.2:1
Prop: Aeronaut 14x10
ESC: Koby Kontronik 90A
Battery: Hyperion 45C 1600Mah 6S for F5J rules and 4S lipos for FAI rules.
Servos:
4x DES 448 BB MG Graupner ( Wing)
2x ATLAS 09 AMD Hyperion (Tail)

The climb will be around 30 m/s, which is important for this year- F5J rules.
Next year FAI rules will be used, so I will switch to smaller lipos.

About the model:

I bought it from HyperFlight ( http://www.hyperflight.co.uk/ )

I live in Slovenia and I get it in 3 working days .
The model has Neon Orange color. A true devil for cameras, because color is too strong for them . This Neon colors are amazing! The model will be very very visible on air and it's definitely one of the most sexy planes around the globe.

The quality takes my breath away every time I check it. I won't lose words on in. IT IS PERFECT!! Can't get better. No way!

The new fuselage in very very long and ideal for FAI rules. Because you can use the lightest power unit you can find.

The weight is amazing. Guys I think this model will eventually dominate in F5J.

Some pictures. Sorry about the color beeing different on each picture. It's because the color is to powerfull for the camera...

Word of warning, the orange will fade pretty quickly in the sun.
Nice plane, I have 2 F3J versions myself.

I got to launch Jack's, 3 times this last weekend....easy to hold.

With the 22 in. prop, it would have picked me up if I didn't let go.

You are going to love it.

The only thing to work on is the flaps, I have to get them to go more than the 70 degrees as landings are a problem for me unless I get 80 degrees like my winch launched version.

Hi Rok,

Glad you received it okay. Congratulations on your 1st place in the last F5J Eurocup event, beating some brilliant pilots.

Nice looking plane. The Supra-E has been out for a year or so I guess. Have there been any problems with spar strength? And reports of wing foldings and why?

Thanks!

The Supra-e has been available for about 3 years. I sell an Ultralite version with a reduced size spar. I think KC sells it with the normal F3J spar and glass skin layup. I haven't heard of any failures in either versions.

This latest "Competition" version has a lighter (and larger) built-up tail. The wing isn't changed, and the lighter tail is of only marginal importance to electric fliers, who often use too large motors and have to add tail weight.

Hello!

The Supra bulid has begun .

Today the elecronics arrived and I was working on Supra for around 5 hours with my father.

I just read instructions and do what it says . It is very very simple! Everyone can do it .

Tail servos are installed and connections are made.

The elevator and rudder has no 'air'. Solid as rock.

I don't wish to hack this wonderful thread but do you have any more details on the glass layup?

The eSupra is a phenomenal flying model. I've never flown anything so nice and I've flown R/C gliders now for twenty years!

Thanks
Curtis

It is the standard F3J Supra wing, as shown here:

The bulid continues... It's the third night now.

We installed the aileron servos and put the cables in the wing.

Hello guys!

I've been working on Supra 4 days now and it's complete.

Supra has been in the air today! If I need to describe how it flys...THE BEST!!

The climb is around 32 m/s and the weight with this setup is 1920g.
For FAI rules I will get the weight to less than 1800g .

Pictures from yesterdays working hours...

Great build she is a true beauty. This is on my short list of e-gliders.
Do you know if the wing from a supra (winch launch style) would fit on this beautiful plane. Whatever I get next I'm hoping for a dual purpose one wing with 2 fuselage knd of thing and this plane might fit the bill if the wing would work on both...

Amazing great build threat
