I'm really frustrated with the quality control of this model.
1) Not enough screws for the control horns
2) pushrod for the elevator too short!
Now I have to buy stuff for a new plane that should have everything. Choosing to mod is one thing; having to buy items that should be in a kit is very frustrating.
Just needed to vent.

It looks great... a lot of detail.
Oh, and I guess you painted the wheel hubs? (the silver)

And why did they actually ever put checker patterns onto aircraft noses? (the ones that did that). To defeat the camo so enemy COULD see them better!?? LOL
Good evening,

I wear glasses, so I need to be visible to aircraft in the air ............

Intel. Needed

Ok,, I have 2 questions.
1) where can I get 3.75"or 4" wheels for this bird and are thin enough to fit flush with the wing after some cutting when retracted? I need to order them before my bird gets here..... which is very soon....

2) What kind of mix are you guys using for flap to elevator?

Thanks In Advance,

Mark

Just put my P-47 on the watt meter after making the cables to run 4 x 2200mAh 4S and scored 70A @ 1100W constant with the stock prop.

Definitely felt like it was pulling a lot harder than just running 2x 2200mAh packs I ran it on previously (but didn't run it with the Watt meter).

Hi MK, I am using 4 inch Dave Brown treaded foam wheels on this bird and I really like them. I wouldn't mind if they were 4.5" even. BUUUUT it was a hassle to get them to fit. If I was to do it over again, I might start with 3.5 inch. My 4" wheels do fit flush, but my HK aluminum oleo struts stick up some with my 514 retracts. In one small spot I had to grind the wing down to less than 1mm thick. I have pictures of everything in this thread, 6 or 8 months back. I love these big soft wheels and shock absorbing struts, you can clearly see them cushion landings.

FYI: you can find lots of info on other setups it you click THREAD TOOLS then SHOW ATTACHMENTS IN THIS THREAD, then click on a pic of landing gear, THE TRICKY PART which was not obvious to me is, when looking at the picture, to go to that specific post and read about it, you must click on the single lowercase word (post) underneath the picture. It is just one word in a whole line, same color as all other text, so not obvious, but VERY handy.
