Here's the video. Seeing the hard landings made me cringe

What you should of done was put the gear up and belly land on the grass

That's not always a good idea with the big four plade prop. I broke one prop while belly landing on grass.

It was quite interesting when I realised that the retract was half stuck and could neither go up or down. I called my buddies to access the situation and give suggestions on how to land it.
One of my buddies advised to belly land, but I was concerned about ripping the retract off the plywood mount or breaking the prop.
Another advised to land the right wing on the tall grass and the left main on the concrete. I thought it was a good idea. You can see me attempting it in the video, but at the last minute, I thought it was too hot and I was worried about how the plane will whip around when the right wing catches the tall grass.
So I went around and I did what I did. I still think that was the right thing to do considering that I didn't break anything.

Hi Marian, Your P47 looks awesome from what I can see, but the pictures that you uploaded came out VERY low resolution. You might try uploading them again, and keep the original resolution. I use a 8 mega pixel camera to take my pictures and I just upload them in the original resolution and they come out fine. I do not think you need to compress them at all before upload. Good luck, I want to see your Jug up close

I want to paint my silver P47 something like yours, so I have some questions for you, like how did you make the checkers on the cowl? It seems like it would be difficult to wrap decals around the curved surface. Also, did you start with a silver or a green color airplane?

Did you paint the plane and THEN add some 'splashes' of silver for mimicking chipping?
It looks great... a lot of detail.
Oh, and I guess you painted the wheel hubs? (the silver)

And why did they actually ever put checker patterns onto aircraft noses? (the ones that did that). To defeat the camo so enemy COULD see them better!?? LOL

P-47

saw this on a website and just want to make sure this will fit my HK 1600 P-47? The discription said this,

"FMS 4 Blade Propeller & Spinner For 1.4M F4U & P-47 This is for F4U and P47 which using 500kv motor"

USD$15.00

Does anyone know where I can get extra props for this bird in the states?

Don't think so. It's smaller than the stock starmax prop. So you'll loose power.
