stay safe and away from those fires BJ

well i finally got my apparition rc boat going again. We put dads phone in it and did speed runs with it and it does 60 kph. Dads surge crusher boat does 58 kph so I win but a slight margin. The boat hauls ass at that speed on the water though and looks like its going allot quicker.

Im charging the lipos and ill take out the rc car soon for a spin. Its been a while since i took her out. Should be fun.

Hope your all well and having fun.

Yeh mate - they're a fair few k's away this time around. I'm pretty safe where I am, but you just never know with those darn things - particularly when the wind goes spaz.

Good to hear you're back on the bike and running your boats. You're Dad is your Champion, huh? You two are good for each other

And some car action coming up soon too - all good

Have you lost interest in the hairy-planes/choppers altogether - or just taking an extended break?

Just kinda lost interest BJ. Although this afternoon I fixed up my reaktor for flight again and replaced the servo.

I have two brushless mcpx's but there both in bits and needs parts and motivation to get them going. I think i might just sell them off soon as they have been sitting there a while.

I still have my little micro f3a to madien on a 3s but im also thinking about selling that.

I want the new eflite edge 540 QQ and that might get my juices flowing again.

I took the car out for a quick bash this arvo and it was fun.

When the wind calms down I might take the reaktor up for a spin and get some footage of it.

It was good to see them race each other. I was thinking about racing them but after seeing them and seeing how hard it is I dont think i will at all.

Whats been going on BJ?

Where are you all and whats been happening

Not a lot happening here flying-wise, Stal.

Been trying to get a 4-axis CNC HotWire foam cutter sorted. Nearly there now, so I should be cutting fuzes/wings soon

How's your health, mate?

Feels like someone elses then... (so I'm told)

heres some speed runs with my appartion. We hit a top speed of 60kph.

Apparition speed runs max speed is 60kph on 4s (2 min 22 sec)

and heres dads super surge crusher. It only hit 58kph.

Super surge crusher max speed runs max speed is 58kph on 4s (3 min 45 sec)

at the start of this video you can see our recovery boat. It works really well now. We ironed out of the problems with it now and have made many successful recoveries with it now.

heres a video of our recovery boat in action. took a few tries due to the wind

The best rc recovery boat in the world (2 min 39 sec)

BJ and raz you need to get a boat man there so much fun

Those things seem to really zip along quite nicely

That's only 60kmh? Sure looks a lot faster - but I guess they're rather small and go from 0-60 liks sht off a shovel, huh?

Still got this nitro 'Stingray' I haven't even started yet - wonder how that would go?

Re the recovery-boat - why the EDF's? So its like a Florida swamp-boat? i.e. no prop to drag in the weeds etc?

how was your australia day BJ. I went for a great surf and then relaxed for the rest of the day. Happy to report im 3 months or more sober and doing really well. Health wise im about 90%. Feeling great now. Slowly getting off the steroids now by smaller doses each week.

Hey raz what have you been flying lately? What new toys have you got apart from your small rc car?

Joel you still out there? You surviving the cold ok

RE the recovery boat, yah BJ EDF's so theres nothing to get caught up on. The underneath of the board has some daggerboards for steerage but there quite short but they make all the difference. Dad put allot of thought into it and I choose the EDF's we used. It has been some months of trial and error to get it to finally work. But now it works great. Full throttle it would almost take off and fly. There 90mm 36mm 1600kv motors on 3s lipos.

Good to hear you're on the mend Stal. Keep at it. Whole new World waiting for you out there.

Had a really 'nothing' weekend so far.

Partner is over from Adelaide, so we've just cruised along the last 2 days.

Charging tonight for an early morning fly with a couple of things - weather might just be good

90mm EDF's in the recovery boat? Crikey! No wonder it'd just about take off and fly. Woot woot.

Hi all,
Sounds like we're on a "health" kick. Hope you are enjoying.
Still kickin' around. Life has been hard this passed year and things are looking better for me to join "society" again.
Am finally getting all my RC things in one place, have a bench. Now to get it "organized" enough to find anything.

regards,
Bill

Still haven't really graduated to CP competence. Doubt if I could fly my 4#6 moth...if it was in working order...needs an ESC. It was pretty edgy for an FP.
