Triple Screw Towboat

This is my first post and first work in progress build. It is a triple screw tow boat of the first towboat I ever worked on the Mississippi River. I worked on the Miss Kae-D for ACL. Now the boat belongs to AEP now called the Jeffrey G. Stover. The boat is made out of styrene. It is 13inches wide 48 1/2iches long. It has three Model Solutions Of Canada sound modules, three motors, working steering and flanking rudders, two working Radars, three working stack fans, six working winchs and working lights, and a smoker unit. It is powered by four 12v led acid batteries. The boat has one huge bow tank that holds balast water and eight wing tanks on boths side which can be used as balast tanks. The boat has ashaft alley for each shaft with a boat saver pump installed just in case water drips in from the stuffing box that has been packed with lube. I plan on installing more battery level indicators for the rest of my batteries. I have a custom Robbe F14 transmitter. It has triple throttles for the motors and dual throttle for the steering rudders and flanking rudders. I will post pics of the transmitter later. Here is my M/V David S. Monroe.

Very impressive! Any photos from when you were working on the real one?

I only have pictures of the tow knees and the barges the boat was pushing at the time.

That's really nice Davaan and with all that power plus sound it should be a very impressive model. How about a pictue of under the hood? I'd like to see what you have done there. The spiral stair case is neat. Bet that was some work. pete

The Steersman now captain and I are on the M/v James Ermer now. The Miss Kae- D was a beast to face up to a tow. It had a total of 24 parts spectra line and two fore/aft wires . It took 3 days to sooge. I was on call watch in the last room in front of the stacks on the 2nd deck on the port side. Where can the videos be viewed at Towboat Joe?

Davaan, sorry I haven't got back sooner. I've been trying to get settled into a new house. I don't have the video uploaded. I'll have to go through the tapes and find it. I know I got some video of her coming out of the mouth of the Ohio at Cairo.
