Blu, back in '81/'82 I was selected for Grand Jury. Back then in Mass. it was a 6 month duty. In fact after our duty they changed it to a 3 month duty. My FD Chief didn't like it one bit and called the DA to try and get me off the Grand Jury. The DA reamed his ...you know what...lol. Needless to say, I was not too popular with this particular Chief until he retired...the old I guess he thought he was above the law

I have to admit, it was "very" interesting. On many of the cases, my fellow jurors couldn't even look at the evidence pics.

Because I stalled on it.
As you know, at the field we have a few guys with hot wires and band saws, so they can cut-out anything you ask for for $4-10 per jet.
So I asked for the Raptor and got it put together.
But after I installed my 1300kv motor I realized I had a bent motor shaft.
SCREEECH!

Now I have to get a new shaft or steal a motor from another plane.

But I have also had a TON of writing and editing work to do, and I have to stay on top of it all.
I even worked on editing a written piece DURING the Super Bowl.

One more obstacle: I'm 2/3rds done with a full-length feature screenplay about RC planes and the nerds who fly 'em. (Thanks to you guys for providing inspiration for some of my characters! HA HA HA HA! Don't worry though, it'll never be filmed. My literary agent is lazy and distracted: she fell in love with some Texan dude.)

Chap1012,
You would be surprised how quickly you get a grip on speed once you get a wing. Turn and burn and with an Assassin, you don't worry about dorking it into the ground either. Two more Assassin kits have been ordered by my buddies.

Blu,
That VisionAire looks very hot! flys much lighter than it looks and the kid on the sticks is very good. My friend Bill can fly like that too, very impressive to watch.

Ridge,
That ice looks cool when it's smooth like that. Are we seeing the lake bottom or just murky water below? Looks like good conditions for some ice boating too. I loved the long landing slides Good thing the rocks were far away at the start.

Well the water around here usually looks black,it's from the Tannin in the water.
The ice looked about 6-12'' in some places

I've learned some hard lessons in life, one.... Never go surfing alone and two, nerver go out on the ice alone. Real bad things can happen.

I admit it, ice scares the out of me. Walked maybe two feet out on a Sierra lake once and went on one with cross country skis over snow. Felt okay with the skis on, figured I was putting my weight over much more surface and there were people walking out on it to ice fish. Saw one fishing hole that was 2 plus feet thick if I remember right. Even then, I don't think I'll get out on the ice again. Just creeps me out Read a bit about the guys that ice boat and how they carry some sort of ice crampons they keep tied to their wrists just in case they break through. I'll stick with the dry lake beds myself. Just don't get caught on one when it rains, that stuff turns to the worst mud you have ever seen. Rolls up on itself and stops car tires in tens of feet. Walked on some once, looked like I was wearing those funny cork shoes the girls wore in the 70's You get taller with every step

Oh man does that look COLD.

I went out on an aircraft propeller-driven boat myself. My editor asked me to write a story about Stumpknocker Tours so I went down to the swamp to talk to the owner/captain. His airboat was huge! He said, "We have an empty seat, so c'mon out with us!"

This boat has two 3-blade props powered by a 496 Chevy big-block @ 425HP.

The fat dude in the back is me....
