Thanks!

I got it because i also have the Big parkzone Mustang P-51D BL and i have been practicing flying the parkzone T-28 and BF-109 on the phoenix flight sim.

And i don't want to crash that one right off the bat..the t-28 will be a good trainer and now i can't wait to fly that P-51 Mustang BL.

Very happy with the t-28!!

Does anyone know what those planes are called you wing up in the air like a shotput? ( I think thats what they are called) there is a video on the side of a guy winging one up and it looks awesome. They arent powered by anything, just strictly glide...?

A sail plane?...it's in the sail plane threads.

But i don't even really know what a sail plane is...lol

I have seen those sling shot kind of launchers but launching a jet on a video before, but not by hand like that!

EDIT:

I looked up rc sail plane on you tube....that sure looks like a sail plane.

Who is going to be the first to launch their champ that way..lol

I thought it was a special kind of "sail plane".

Or is a sail plane a glider? Is a glider a sail plane? These champs have us brain locked lol

That thing just rockets into the air though....

Really awesome Ridge!

So what exactly do the ailerons do? Is it basically that the rudder is for yaw, and ailerons are for roll?

You know what would be sweet? If you added some flaps! It would make your landings beautiful if used them as makeshift air brakes - although these UM planes don't really need them I think.

Can't wait to see more of the T-28, I hope I can get one before the summer ends. Thanks Ridge!

@Viper

Which is smaller, the to be released HK ones, or the ones from TH. I have not yet ordered anything, will decide soon. But I was thinking the TH 6100s should be a good bet. What do you think?

Good job, Ridge!
This is easier than YahooGroups and thanks for acknowledging my idea.
I didn't know if RCG would allow a chat thread for the Champ & Micro crowd.

But this is great! No more crap on the Champ thread!

Man, I LOVE that video BTW, Ridge! Not just for how SWEET that T-28 flies, but also for the super green grass and trees of NH. Man, you are making me wanna move back to N.E.!!!

Ya, the setting for the video is picturesque. If Ridge had an HD cam, it would look phenomenal!

Astro, the T-28 needs no flaps. It can come in so slow you can float a landing with a little head wind. Btw one of the best parts of this plane is take offs and landings. Much better than the Champster due to the tricycle gear.

Ya, that's why I was saying flaps probably are not necessary. Just thought it would be cool. Heck, I'd bet you could land it vertically with those lol

Just saying as Ridge likes to experiment - as I do too but I've only got one plane so far!

I think the T-28 would be the perfect next step for you. You are definitely ready. Just start putting $10 a week in a jar and all your change and birthday money and you'll have one before you know it!

Haha that's not the problem. I can afford one, but I am saving for my pilot's license. It'll take a lot longer, but it'll be worth it.

I will definitely pull the trigger at some point and buy one, don't need to save up for it like that lol

Before the T-28 though I want to buy two/three whole sets of parts. As much as I like these UM planes, I truly enjoy the concept of making my own more.

Ah birthday money, those were the days
