It's also good to run a long strip of tape down the seem between the top and bottom,helps make the two halves like one.

By the way why does this 500 mha battery have extra wires they get in the way and they are thick.

Have had a couple sons/fathers stop and ask me about the Champ in the park and one of them got his son a Champ for his birthday.
Have also let a kid...with dads permission, give the Champ a try one day....he also bought a Champ!

It's cool when you get to turn someone on too the micro rc airplane hobby.

This may be really stupid of me to ask, but are you certain that's a 1c batt?
I cant help but think it sounds like a balance plug, which a 1c wouldnt have.

Looks like a single cell to me,like a 500 mah without a black end cap on it.
Also,wouldn't a 2s have three wires on the balance lead,not sure because i don't have any 2s battery packs but it's just a guess.

Here is a picture of an e flite 500 mah with the black plastic end cap removed...because the wires broke inside the insulation from bending so many times.
Had to remove the black end cap and resolder the wires to the battery tabs.

It looks like a JST connection. It's on some of my heli batts. Just another connector so you dont have to buy an adaptor. Did you see the info on the elec. conversion I got for ya?

PS. If you snip off the other connector on the batt. do it one wire at a time. If you snip both wires with the pliers at the same time the pliers will short out the batt as it touches them at the same time. Snip one at a time, close to the batt. and then cover the end with elec. tape so it dosent touch anything. Dont ask me how I know about shorting it out and you prob know this already. I was in a hurry once and wasnt thinking, snipped off both wires and POP and a little smoke. But the larger wires are for powering larger motors that draw a heavier load and would melt the smaller wires. Save the connectors though as some day you may need them. Hope this helps a little.

Definitely one cell, just two types of connectors for convenience. It's not a balance plug, it's a Molex PicoBlade with 1.25mm pin spacing (the white one), and the red one is just JST. I'm pretty sure about this.
